So hard to pluck a favorite
So hard to pluck a favorite out of this lineup now. So close! Without belaboring the many interesting whys, what we are looking at is complex.
Trending well now, fit and with a small gap ahead of him = Mir
(Trending well but too far back for a championship, and about to get a Red seat = Bagnaia)
Crystal ball interest? Quartararo and the Yamaha. Did they just endure a brief crisis and now return to fierce form? Or has there been a pivot for the poorer? Going with the former re the rider, but a hedged caveat about the bike's taxed engines late in the season.
Also the KTM - which was the odd blip, their huge leap forward or this bogey track? Betting the latter but not going to stack much money on that.
So a focus now on what tracks are coming up and what they favor. We still have a couple more possible first time winners.
Very interesting watching battles today comparing Ducati - Suzuki, and Suzuki - Yamaha. The Suzuki handles SO well! The Duc has come a long way. One of my favorite considerations in our sport. (Very entertaining fight at the front of Moto2 worth seeing btw). Dovi may well just steady chug this thing out escaping attrition.
At the other end of things, Alex Marquez deserving an HRC seat isn't going to be getting much talk. Petrucci looks deflated. Rabat continues to waste a seat that a Moto2 standout should have. Re the rear end of the bikes sprectum, how much more motor is reserved to wick up and iron out electronically at Aprilia over the season? My expectations are low. Re the Honda, we might be curious what exactly goes on at their test program. Oh to be a fly on the wall in there. They should consider a makeover? Worst bike from the biggest war chest. It has all been said.
Good race today! Congrats Italy, VR46, Bagnaia, and especially Morbidelli. Fun.
