The final practice session for the premier class matched the hot weather with the pace on display and the pool of favourites did not narrow down in the slightest. Despite the sunbathing conditions, most of the field seemed to prefer the hard front-soft rear combination and Marc Marquez put it to good use to lead the way throughout the session and post the quickest time on his very last lap to slightly increase his advantage at the top. The Spaniard managed to put together a trouble-free session and continues to look like the favourite with a pretty impressive set of low to mid 1:48s. However, he found himself a rather unlikely challenger for top spot in Enea Bastianini, the rookie climbing up the timesheets in the closing stages of FP4 and getting within a tenth and a half of the leader. Pecco Bagnaia really put the soft rear tyre through its paces to total 23 pretty impressive laps on his way to securing third, less than two tenths off top spot.
Fabio Quartararo was the odd one out, trying out the hard rear tyre at the beginning of the session but then showing good pace on the soft to close FP4. Jack Miller showed similar rhythm in the mid to high 1:48s on the soft rear, joining the top five ahead of Takaaki Nakagami. Jorge Martin, Pol Espargaro and Joan Mir also finished the session within four tenths of the leader, the reigning world champion not too far off the leaders’ pace. Johann Zarco rounded out the top 10, with Aleix Espargaro dropping to 11th towards the end of the session but the Aprilia looked pretty consistent on really used rubber, a tenth or two off the pace showed by the top 5.
