2021 Donington World Superbike FP2 Result: Gerloff Makes A Mark

With the English weather looking to be unpredictable all weekend, Garrett Gerloff, back from a stint in MotoGP, used an SCX tyre to set the fastest time of the day, over three tenths quicker than Jonathan Rea who couldn't improve on his morning's time. Toprak Razgatlioglu, who finished in second place here in 2018, was third quickest ahead of Alex Lowes. Scott Redding held off Michael Ruben Rinaldi with local lad Leon Haslam seventh quickest.

Garrett Gerloff said: “It’s really funny but I have a lot of USA vibes here. There’s English everywhere and then the track is just really reminding me of a couple of tracks, like Road Atlanta, Virginia International Raceway and Pittsburgh out in the north east. It just seems like this track gives me a lot of vibes from those tracks and for sure I think that helps when I go out and ride. I had a lot of fun out there.”

Yamahas go faster when the pilot is having fun. Isn't that right Maverick?
