Qatar swapped day for night, sun for floodlights and Bezzecchi for Lowes but it was the same strong men at the top of the timesheets. After Bezzecchi claimed the afternoon session, Lowes took his turn in the lead for the evening, one tenth ahead of the Italian and another two tenths from the next closest challenger, Joe Roberts. Xavi Vierge stepped it up in FP2 to trail the leader by three tenths of a second, while Remy Gardner completed the top five.
Bo Bendsneyder continues to impress at Losail and together with Nicolo Bulega, finished within half a second of Lowes. Raul Fernandez in eighth position was the top rookie in the session, while Jake Dixon and Jorge Navarro rounded out the top ten. The rest of the precious top 14 positions were secured by some of the regulars: Marcel Schrotter, Tony Arbolino, Tom Luthi and Aron Canet. The likes of Lorenzo Baldassarri, Fabio Di Giannantonio or Marcos Ramirez missed out on the honours but finished within a second of top spot and will be dreaming of a cool Saturday afternoon.
