Darryn Binder has ended the first day of the Moto3 test in Qatar as fastest, the South African finishing just ahead of his Petronas Sprinta teammate John McPhee, and showing he is adapting well to the Honda from the KTM.

Filip Salac of the Rivacold Snipers Team set the third fastest time, ahead of Dennis Foggia and Gabriel Rodrigo. Jaume Masia was the fastest KTM rider in sixth, but the differences were negligible. There was just over a tenth of a second behind Binder in first and Masia in sixth.
