2007 Sachsenring FP1 Times - Day 1

The Sachsenring circuit shouldn't suit the Ducati. Unfortunately, no one remembered to tell Casey Stoner, as already in the first session, he has shattered the lap record by over 2/10ths of a second. Stoner was consistently faster than everyone else in the session. Interesting to see Carlos Checa in 2nd spot, he was another surprise, being so fast on a bog stock Honda satellite bike. And an even bigger surprise is to see Sylvain Guintoli, on Dunlop tires, in 9th spot, ahead of Dani Pedrosa down in 11th.

Nicky Hayden isn't as far forward as last time out at Assen, and Valentino Rossi is loitering down in 8th spot, while team mate Colin Edwards is up in 4th.

The weekend is already looking interesting, after just one session.

2007 Dutch TT Assen FP3 Times - Day 2

Although Valentino Rossi topped the timesheets in this morning's final practice, just stealing the fastest time with his final lap of the session, it was Casey Stoner who once again dominated the free practice. Stoner consistently ran lap after lap of 1'37 and low 1'38 times, faster than anyone else. Rossi was quick, but not as consistent as the young Australian championship leader.

Behind the front two, Nicky Hayden and Colin Edwards were also consistently fast. Though John Hopkins ended up with the 5th quickest time, he was much further down the field for most of the session. Makoto Tamada took 6th, once again using a qualifier to get himself up into the fast times.

This morning's session was dry, though cool, but a band of rain is making it's way across the Netherlands, expect to reach Assen within the next hour or so. It's arrival looks to coincide exactly with the MotoGP qualifying practice, so qualifying could be very interesting. The first few minutes could be very spectacular, if the track is still dry, with people risking a qualifier early. Tomorrow's weather is predicted to be dry in the morning, with a chance of rain in the afternoon, but it looks like the race will be run in dry conditions, leaving this morning's session as probably the best indication of what's going to happen tomorrow.

Another very wet and rainy session. Anthony West, Casey Stoner and John Hopkins were quickest for most of the session, overtaken halfway through by Chris Vermeulen. Towards the end, the weather started to ease up a little, and some different names shot to the top of the table, including Nicky Hayden and Colin Edwards. More rain is predicted for tomorrow.
