The second session of the MotoGP test ahead of Jerez proved more eventful than hoped, with a power cut and an oil spill causing the session to be red flagged for nearly an hour. The oil - from Aleix Espargaro's Aprilia, a sign that reliability is still an issue - caused Danilo Petrucci and Alex Marquez to crash. Petrucci was badly banged up, though a medical at the Clinica Mobile turned up nothing permanent. Petrucci was shaken up enough to skip the remainder of the session.
At the end of the second session, two Yamahas led, Maverick Viñales finishing alead of Fabio Quartararo. Marc Marquez ended as third in the second session, and third overall, while the two Suzukis finished fourth and fifth, Alex Rins ahead of Joan Mir. Pecco Bagnaia was the fastest Ducati in the afternoon, finishing just behind Joan Mir, and a tenth ahead of Johann Zarco on the Avintia bike. The Espargaro brothers ended the session in eighth and ninth, Aleix on the Aprilia four hundredths quicker than Pol on the KTM, but putting all six manufacturers in the top nine in the test. Franco Morbidelli rounded out the top ten.

1st things to stand out at a glance? Marc's immediate gap initial laps, the Aprilia speed, Rins/Rossi/Aleix/Oliveira hit the track running.
Then Mir joins the party, and we may have a step of improvement with the Suzuki bike development. Zarco, wow.
Ahhhhhh, we made it.
"Highlight" 3.5 mins video (pretty basic). The KTM looks to have retained its basic character, good drag race w the Honda. Rins looks confident. No Petrux/A.Marquez crash footage avail. Elsewhere is Aleix smoking, then afterwards his guilty dejected face during cleanup. Not worth finding.

P.S. Did you see that race direction is reviewing Aprilia's new rule workaround effort, used today first w Danilo (retribution because he signed Orange?)? And we thought the "tire cooling spoon' was dodgy.
Spy hunter sneaked video from their testing:

;)
(Hope you are ok Petrucci)
Aprilia oil
So what exactly was the problem with Aleix's Aprilia? It didn't seem as if it was catastrophic failure, but it was definitely smoking. And it put enough oil on the track to cause crashes?
