Jerez WorldSBK January Test Thursday Times: A Dry Track Sees Rea Lead

The WorldSBK riders got a little bit of dry running at Jerez on Thursday, or at least some dry-ish running. A couple of hours were enough for Jonathan Rea to believe it worth going out on track and laying down a time. But his best lap was still 2.7 seconds off the time he set at the November test in Jerez.

Toprak Razgatlioglu ended the test in second place, the Turkish youngster quickly up to speed on the Pata Yamaha, a quarter of a second behind Rea. Scott Redding finished as third quickest on the Aruba Ducati, ahead of Alex Lowes on the second Kawasaki. Michael van der Mark ended the test as fifth quickest, ahead of Leon Haslam on the Honda CBR1000RR-R.

In the WorldSSP class, the MV Agustas lead the way, Randy Krummenacher a second quicker than Federico Fuligni.

The test is now ended, and the paddock is packing up and heading west to Portimao.

Good to see that Garrett Gerloff is on the pace.

Go Toprak Razgatlioglu !! Fast in all conditions.

Five manufacturers running 18 bikes. Not a big field. As usual most of them are ducks, Six Ducatis, 5 Yamahas, 3 Kwakas, two each from BMW and the big H. Surely Honda can run more than 2 bikes? Haven't they learned the MV Agusta lesson, more bikes & riders doing more laps means more data. More data is good for computer bikes.
