2019 Austria MotoE FP1 Result: Tuuli Means Business

Whether it’s under the threatening clouds of Sachsenring or the burning sun of the Red Bull Ring, Niki Tuuli is one step ahead of his rivals. The Finnish rider ended the first practice session in Austria under one tenth of a second ahead of Bradley Smith and another tenth ahead of Mike Di Meglio, in an exact replica of the podium from the series’ inaugural race.

Mattia Casadei was best of the rest but still a mere two tenths off the leader, with Xavier Simeon completing the top five. Eric Granado started his race weekend on a positive, sixth in FP1, with Matteo Ferrari, Jesko Raffin, Sete Gibernau and Hector Garzo rounding out a top ten covered by nine tenths of a second.
