Chaz Davies, poleman last year, was quickest ahead of Jonathan Rea and Alvaro Bautista in a quicker session than this morning's timed session. Only Michael van der Mark and the Hondas did not improve on their morning's times.

Loris Baz top Yamaha again!
Yes it’s only FP1/2 but this combination seems to be on their way. I spoke to their crew chief Mick Stanley at Donington, knowing him from the BSB days with SMR (Shaun Muir Racing, now running the factory BMW squad). He was there at the start of the R1-M with Swan Yamaha and has a lot of knowledge plus what’s left of the TKR team and their infrastructure are so experienced and maybe have a point to prove! Anyway, good to see this quality addition to the show, hope the improvements keep coming. Still incredible when you see how low the base was when they started, no data, a destroyed bike at Jerez to now-impressive!
