2019 Barcelona Test Times Final: Viñales Ends Day On Top

Maverick Viñales has topped the timesheets at the end of the test on the day after the Barcelona round of MotoGP. Like most of the grid, he put in a late charge to set his fastest time, finishing just ahead of Franco Morbidelli, and nearly three tenths faster than Marc Marquez. Alex Rins ended the day as fourth quickest, just ahead of Fabio Quartararo and Pecco Bagnaia.

...and he has no point to make by chasing a quick lap. He is very immersed in working. They have a lot going on there.

Some satellite riders are just trying out different set ups and have zero donkey work. Perhaps Suzuki has some reason to run soft tire Q outlaps?

Of all the riders out there, Vale is the least in need of impressing anyone outside of Sundays. Marquez does the same sort of thing in FP sometimes, albeit running 7th, running used tires to explore the closing parts of the race etc.

Lorenzo had a massive crash in the early morning. Nothing broken, but he was very beaten up.
