2019 Sepang MotoGP Test Friday 11am Times: Petrucci Obliterates Lap Record As New Parts Appear

With two days of testing already under their belts, and perfect track conditions in the cool of the morning, the MotoGP riders are obliterating records at the Sepang test. Maverick Viñales was the first rider to break through Jorge Lorenzo's old record of 1'58.830, but as 11am approached, rider after rider smashed through it, with Danilo Petrucci destroying it by near six tenths.

The Ducatis are dominating the timesheets this early in the day, with the top four places held by the two factory bikes and the two Pramac machines. Danilo Petrucci is fastest, but perhaps even more impressive is Pecco Bagnaia in second, a few hundredths behind, on the bike Petrucci was riding at the end of 2018, in just Bagnaia's fourth test.

Maverick Viñales and Cal Crutchlow are also inside the 1'58s, while Aleix Espargaro has put the Aprilia into seventh, just short of Crutchlow, with a 1'59.022.

There were more than a few new parts appearing on bikes this morning. There was some consternation in the Ducati pits, with a new fairing appearing on Andrea Dovizioso's bike, and the rear torque arm reappearing on Danilo Petrucci's GP19, after it made its first appearance in Jerez.

There is a chance that these times will drop at the end of the day, but the bar has already been set very high.

AI#29 was money very well spent..../sarcasm off/the man goes to another side of the world, to make 20 laps in 3 days, and crashes in outlap. I actually thought he will man up an deliver. Silly me.
