2016 Qatar MotoGP FP4 Result: Lorenzo Leads Marquez, Argues With Rossi

Jorge Lorenzo has topped the final session of free practice ahead of the qualifying for the MotoGP class, the Movistar Yamaha rider putting in a blistering lap at the end of the session to take the lead from Repsol Honda's Marc Marquez. But the session was far from smooth for Lorenzo or his teammate Valentino Rossi. The two bickered in the middle of the session, Rossi sitting up to gesticulate at Lorenzo when the Spaniard was following him, and the pair continuing the argument at the end of the session as they lined up to do their practice starts.

Andrea Dovizioso ended up as third fastest, the factory Ducati rider a third of a second slower than Lorenzo, finishing ahead of Valentino Rossi, who was fourth. Andrea Iannone set the fifth fastest time, after leading early in the session, while Cal Crutchlow made a late charge on the LCR Honda to finish sixth. Pol Espargaro had a good run on the Monster Tech 3 Yamaha to end the session on seventh, ahead of Maverick Viñales on the Suzuki and Scott Redding on the Pramac Ducati.

It wasn't because Lorenzo was following. Lorenzo was going slow on the line. Marquez nearly hit him earlier on because of the same thing.

Anyone see Lorenzo's hand gesture after they stopped making signs at each other? Hilarious but they seem to have cut it out of the clip

Yep, Lorenzo was on the line. Last year this was reversed but the difference is Rossi owned up to it, and apologized immediately at that time. He accepted blame. Lorenzo's response was "I don't know" and made no such apology, at least on the interview I saw. He basically played dumb to it. Sad to see.

I saw the hand gesture. It meant f and u.
