Results and summary of the Moto3 qualifying session at Le Mans:
Early rainfall during qualifying at Le Mans shook up the Moto3 grid, rewarding riders who went out early and leaving many of the favorites with empty hands. Fabio Quartararo and his Estrella Galicia teammate Jorge Navarro took the track early, busting out fast laps at the start, gambling that the weather would change. Their gamble paid off, giving pole to Quartararo and leaving Navarro in 2nd. Their eagerness was punished next lap, both men falling at the Dunlop Curve as the spots of rain started to make the track slick. Neither man was injured, though Quartararo was seen shaking his right hand a lot after the crash.
Pecco Bagnaia takes the final place on the front row, following Quartararo early to take 3rd, while the rain meant that Romano Fenati will finally get a good starting slot on the grid, the Sky VR46 rider starting from 5th.
The biggest losers were the men who did not push early. Championship leader Danny Kent will start from 31st on the grid, though his time was outside the 107% cutoff time. But he, along with five other riders, were allowed onto the grid, as they had set times well within the 107% cutoff time during practices.
