Race results from Argentine below:
Johann Zarco won his frst-ever Moto2 race in dominating fashion Sunday at the Termas de Rio Hondo track in Argentina. Zarco -- the frst French rider in three years to win in the class -- finished the contest nearly three seconds clear of second place. Rookie Alex Rins also had his best Moto2 finish ever taking second place after a late race battle with Sam Lowes.
Lowes, the winner in Austin, held second for much of the race but began to slightly drift off the pace toward the race's end only to be passed by Rins with two laps remaining.
And where was World Champion Tito Rabat? The reigning Moto2 champ was pushed wide on lap one by eventual winner Zarco. After a brief off-track excursion, he rejoined the pack at the rear, eventually finishing 12th at the wire.
Mika Kallio grabbed fourth for his best finish of the season. Franco Morbidelli made an astonishing run through the pack to finish fifth after qualifying a dismal 22nd. Thomas Luthi came in sixth, just in front of Sandro Cortese (7th). Lorenzo Baldassari (8th), Qatar race-winner Jonas Folger (9th) and Hafizh Syahrin (10th) completed the top 10.
