2014 Sepang Moto2 QP Result: Perfect Result In Near Perfect Conditions

Championship leader Tito Rabat has continued his faultless weekend so far and taken pole position following Moto2 Qualifying at the Sepang circuit. Conditions remained brilliantly sunny and warm throughout and Rabat took full advantage; reeling off a number of scintillating lap times on his way to topping the session. The Marc VDS rider can wrap up the 2014 Moto2 title tomorrow and took an important first step by edging out his team mate Mika Kallio by just over a tenth of a second. Sandro Cortese completes the front row in third place, he finished up a tenth of a second further behind Kallio.

Rookie rider Maverick Vinales will head up row two for tomorrow's race after finishing the session in fourth place, he edged out Tom Luthi and a rejuvenated Takaaki Nakagami. Julian Simon continued his impressive weekend to this point to claim seventh spot at the front of the third row and he will be joined by Johan Zarco and Dominique Aegerter who posted the eighth and ninth fastest times respectively. Spanish rider Axel Pons rounded out the top ten ahead of the German duo of Marcel Schrotter and Jonas Folger who complete the fourth row.

How's the sacking of Josh Herrin working out for you guys? Looks as brilliant a move as your F1 management decisions...

I think you are being a bit hard on Wilairot; he had mechanical issues and couldn't really put together a quick lap. He was in the top 10 in this morning's warm up.. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think I saw Herrin get near the top 10 in any session this season.

I saw the whole thing as a business decision. Sponsor money and national representation. Nothing personal, just business. What US businesses can be considered a major sponsor to MotoGp? What impact does having an American rider in Moto2 have on attendance at an event on line subscriptions or motorcycle sales in the growing markets of the world.

I'm still a fan of Josh and look forward to see him race AMA next year.
