Race two was held under a 28° sun, cooler than the highest qualifying temperature.
Loris Baz took the lead at the start, followed by Marco Melandri, Sylvain Guintoli, Davide Giugliano and Tom Sykes and after a couple of laps jockeying, with Guintoli taking the lead from Baz and Sykes pushing through to third ahead of Melandri, Guigliano suffers a mechanical issue and rides into the gravel for a double DNF.
By the fifth lap, Sylvain Guintoli held a lead in front of Tom Sykes, Marco Melandri, Chaz Davies and Loris Baz, but the front four dropped Baz off and he fell into the clutches of Eugene Laverty and Jonathan Rea.
On the eleventh lap, Marco Melandri sliced past Tom Sykes at turn one and set about closing the one and a half second gap to his teammate. Melandri initially couldn't drop Sykes but as he got into his stride, he chopped half a second a lap from the gap to Guintoli and left Sykes behind.
As in race one, Melandri closed on Guintoli and made an easy pass. He passed at turn one, just like he did to Sykes but cleaner than he did to Baz in the first race, and for the last four laps he just managed his lead and took a convincing victory again.
Marco Melandri took a double victory ahead of his teammate Sylvain Guintoli who kept his title hopes alive by finishing ahead of third placed Tom Sykes.
Sylvain Guintoli has closed the gap to Tom Sykes to 31 points with four races remaining while Marco Melandri takes fourth spot from Loris Baz, albeit 85 points off the lead.
Sylvain Barrier was top Evo finisher, taking advantage of David Salom's early exit.
