Nineteen laps of World Supersport racing under a cooler 26º sun.
Jules Cluzel, from pole position, led the race into the first turn with Kenan Sofuoglu, Michael van der Mark and Raffaele De Rosa behind him. PJ Jacobsen carved through the pack to shuffle into fourth place.
Kenan Sofuoglu faced a challenge from Michael van der Mark but a mistake let PJ Jacobsen through to fight the Turk in his place. Jacobsen and Sofuoglu duelled for a few laps before the New Yorker took second place, 1.3 seconds behind Jules Cluzel six laps in.
Om the next lap, Van der Mark recovered and took a lap to set up a pass on Sofuoglu and it took him another four laps to catch and pass Jacobsen.
Jules Cluzel predicted after qualifying that he had the pace to run from the lead, and while he was unable to run away and build a huge gap, he did maintain a solid pace ahead of the battles behind him. Michael van der Mark reduced the lead to Cluzel by a couple of tenths of a second a lap, but with three laps left and the gap at under a second, Cluzel got his head down and widened the gap lap after lap until he crossed the finish line a second and a half from Van der Mark and over three seconds from PJ Jacobsen who was able to maintain his gap over Kenan Sofuoglu for his first podium in World Supersport.
Jules Cluzel closed the gap to Michael van der Mark in the championship, but only by five points while Kenan Sofuoglu's championship chase seems like it's over.
