Jonathan Rea was quickest at the point the day's proceedings were red flagged for a burst drain at turn four, with 12'40 remaining of the session. Tom Sykes was four hundredths of a second off his time, with the Aprilias of Marco Melandri and Sylvain Guintoli hot on their heels.
This may well be the first time sewage on the track is the cause of a red flag in international racing.

Excrement on track
Excrement on track has brought disruption to proceedings many times. First one that came to mind was Pedrosa diving under Hayden 8 yrs ago. A few riders have stayed on the race line w blown motors spewing oil which brought red flags out and everyone at the pub was yelling "sh*t!" - Does that count? Oh, and Gibernau's Ducati pinwheel salad w Capirossi smelled rather foul.
;)
EBR
still down the bottom, which is a bummer. I have to wonder if they're not running closer to an EVO spec than full on WSBK. It would sort of make sense in this learning year to be prepared for the rule changes for next year, wouldn't it?
