2013 Silverstone Moto2 QP Result: Pole Decided By Fine Margin

Takaaki Nakagami has taken pole position during an extremely tight Moto2 qualifying session for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. The session ended with the top four riders being separated by a microscopic eight hundredths of a second. Nakagami finished ahead of local hope Scott Redding who threw everything he had at the fast and flowing circuit. Weekend long pace setter Johan Zarco rounded out the front row in third place.

'Tito' Rabat headed up row two ahead of Thomas Luthi and a disappointing Pol Espargaro, who is battling an illness this weekend. The Spaniard will have his work cut out for him to keep tabs on Redding in Sunday's race. Brno race winner Mika Kallio ended proceedings in seventh place ahead of Dominique Aegerter and Julian Simon in eighth and ninth places respective.

There was disappointment for Danny Kent who suffered a heavy crash early in the session, the youngster was perhaps too eager to impress at his home round after finishing sixth in FP3, he ended QP in 27th position. Sandro Cortese, bravely riding with a pinned broken arm also had a crash midway through the session but was able to remount and gingerly ride back to pit lane.
