Result and summary of the Moto2 race at Mugello:
Briton Scott Redding won his second race in a row in dominant fashion at the Mugello Circuit to open up a sizeable championship lead. Nico Terol claimed second and Johann Zarco finished in third. Redding now holds a 43-point lead in the championship after five rounds.
Pol Espargaro, who struggled all weekend to find a consistent pace and qualified in tenth moved up through the pack to finish fourth with former MotoGP rider Mika Kallio in fifth.
But the story of the day was Redding who crashed heavily in practice but immediately found his speed again in qualifying and warm-up. It marked the first time a British rider won successive rounds in an intermediate class since 1971, MotoGP.com reported.

I wonder what the problem is
I wonder what the problem is with the Pons team. Are they still having trouble with the extra weight added to their bike?
Scott
Awesome race by Scott. Steady....controlled....never looked stressed. I love the "BREATHE" pit board :O)

See you there ?
Great race from Redding. Also
Great race from Redding. Also from Nico and Zarco. I hope they can keep the pace the up for the rest of the year. Pol got some lucky positions today after another mediocre ride. He might want to think twice about opening his mouth and calling other riders inconsistent from now on. Shame for Rabat, I thought he was going to be the one who might upset Reddings charge this weekend. He'll be back and I'm saying it here now. Rabat will beat Pol at Montmeló.
Looking Like A Winner
Many congratulations to Scott Redding on his second win.
It's amazing what breaking your "winners duck" can do. From being a frantic, sideways, over eager rider, today he looked smooth, controlled and apart from bad luck, always the winner today.
Maybe the fairer weight system has helped him, but take nothing away, at Mugello he was supreme.
I wonder how many more Brits will be at the British round to support him?
What a difference...
... a year makes. Last year Redding qualified 8th and finished 6th at Mugello with a race time of 39m 56.434s.
This year he starts from pole and wins, with a race time of 39m 53.942s. So it's those precious tenths of seconds that really count.
Excellent result.
