Jerez Moto3 Test Friday Times: Ogura Edges Out McPhee

If the Moto2 lap record was broken at the Jerez test, the Moto3 pole record was absolutely destroyed, with 15 riders circulating below Gabriel Rodrigo's best pole time of 1'45.745 from 2019. Ai Ogura ended the test as fastest overall, over a second under the lap time of Rodrigo, while Petronas Sprinta's John McPhee was just five hundredths slower than the Honda Team Asia rider.

Current pole record holder Gabriel Rodrigo finished the day and the test in third, eight tenths under his own lap record, and just ahead of Tatsuki Suzuki and Sergio Garcia. Raul Fernandez was the first of the KTM riders, the Red Bull KTM Ajo rider behind a fleet of Hondas.

The Moto2 and Moto3 riders now pack up and head to the desert. They face a final test next weekend, before the 2020 season opener on 8th March.

Marco Bezzecchi has ended the day as the fastest of the Moto2 riders, the Sky VR46 rider taking four tenths off Remy Gardner's best time from Wednesday. But it was Aron Canet who impressed, the rookie building on a fast time yesterday to finish second on the Speed Up. Red Bull KTM Ajo's Jorge Martin ended the day in third on the Kalex, the Spaniard still suffering with a leg injury picked up at a private test, while Thomas Luthi was fourth quickest, half a second behind Bezzecchi.

Petronas rider Jake Dixon suffered a heavy crash, breaking a finger in his right hand, and was forced to fly home for medical treatment.

The first official Moto2 test, where the entire field is gathered together, kicked off today at Jerez under excellent conditions, the day bright and sunny. Conditions were so good that lap records were quickly under assault.

Remy Gardner finished the day as fastest, dropping under the qualifying record by over three tenths of a second. The Australian finished a quarter of a second ahead of Enea Bastianini on the Italtrans Kalex, who was in turn two tenths quicker than veteran Tom Luthi, the Swiss rider ending the day in third.

Edgar Pons finished the first day in fourth on the Gresini Kalex, while Aron Canet was the first Speed Up rider, the Spaniard looking strong in his first few outings on a Moto2 machine. Testing continues on Thursday and Friday at the Andalusian track.

Sepang MotoGP Test Sunday Final Times: Quartararo Secures First Testing Crown of 2020

With rain bringing an early end to testing duties in Sepang, Fabio Quartararo stayed at the top of the timesheets but the gaps remained minuscule. The Frenchman was closely followed by Cal Crutchlow and Alex Rins, while Pecco Bagnaia was lead Ducati ahead of mentor Valentino Rossi – all four riders within two tenths of a second of the leader. Marc Marquez wrapped things up with a small crash at Turn 15 and finished the day 12th on the timesheets, while Maverick Vinales in 18th position was only eighth tenths off his future teammate.

Sepang MotoGP Test Sunday 4pm Times: Quartararo Still Fastest As Riders Try Race Runs

In the heat of the afternoon, the riders who haven't already packed up and gone home are trying race simulations, or at least longer runs. At Yamaha, meanwhile, Maverick Viñales will be getting to test the new holeshot device which has previously been tried by the test team.

There have been no changes in the standings since 2pm. Fabio Quartararo is still fastest, leading a very close field. Maverick Viñales is eight tenths slower than Fabio Quartararo, but he is in eighteenth position. But he is nearly half a second under Valention Rossi's race lap record, and has not pushed for a single fast lap all day.

Sepang MotoGP Test Sunday 2pm Times: Quartararo Still Fastest As Test Winds To A Close

Not much has changed on the last day of the Sepang MotoGP test since noon, despite a flurry of activity on the track. That looks like being the last burst of real activity, as teams start to pack up and head toward the airport. At 2pm, there are only a few riders putting in race simulations in the heat, including Jack Miller, Maverick Viñales and Fabio Quartararo.

There hasn't been much change in the standings since noon either. Fabio Quartararo still leads, ahead of Cal Crutchlow, Alex Rins, and Pecco Bagnaia. Times are incredibly close, thirteen riders within half a second, all six manufacturers inside 0.345 seconds. The test concludes at 6pm this evening.
