It will be very interesting to see what happens this afternoon as the track warms up. At the moment Jorge is still slower than his QP time from Saturday. I believe the Yamaha boys are testing new engines, so there will be a direct comparison for us enthusiasts to dribble over.

Really it has been a very newsworthy season already - the best in years IMO.

The previous update said Jorge was riding the 800 and there is no mention of him switching bikes yet so I think these are probably still 800 times. He has a new engine to test and is by all accounts more interested in improving this year's bike so I wouldn't expect to see 1000 times from him till after he's done all the 800 testing he needs this afternoon.

1.56.260: that is already faster by a decent margin than Dani's pole position on Saturday (1.56.591). Any idea what tyres are being used? I am comfortable guessing that it will not be being ridden in fuel consumption mode.......

Interesting point about fuel consumption. I wonder if the last two Stoner upsets have come because he was using race fuel settings all weekend, while others were surprised by them in the race... ?
