Dani Pedrosa may have a problem with his shoulder over the length of a 45 minute race, but it is not impeding the Repsol Honda rider from being fast. Pedrosa scorched to a lap of 1'38.865, three tenths under the race lap record, and about the same distance ahead of his teammate Casey Stoner. Marco Simoncelli completed a Honda clean sweep of the top three, the San Carlo Gresini rider a third of a second quicker than Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo. Randy de Puniet was the best Ducati rider, with Valentino Rossi not far behind in 6th.

Suprises
A few suprises here, of course Dani at the top, but DePuniet and better yet, Crutchlow put in some good laps. Hopper made a big improvement from yesterday, but whats going on with Spies? I hope he can move up in qualifying.
If Dani can last the whole race, we could be in for some great entertainment. *Go Simoncelli!!*
dani's fast lap
I can't help but wonder if Dani didn't go out on a soft tyre - he did just 3 full laps then back into the pits. After that he set some mid to low 1;39's but nowhere near his early lap flyer, and not as fast as Stoner either for that matter. It maybe that he has learned to put a bit of pressure on his opponents this way from being put on the receiving end of it by Stoner for a few years. "I can go very fast, but maybe not for full race distance"could be the thought process. I hope the next operation resolves the shoulder issues and he can get amongst it all year.
