2011 Jerez MotoGP FP1 Result - Hondas Lead, Rossi Follows

Casey Stoner topped the first session of practice for the MotoGP class at Jerez, just edging ahead of his Repsol Honda teammate Dani Pedrosa. The two Repsols were a cut above the rest of the field, led by a surprisingly strong Valentino Rossi, the Italian putting his Ducati into 3rd half a second behind Stoner and Pedrosa. Two more Hondas filled out the top six, with Marco Simoncelli in 4th and Andrea Dovizioso in 6th, while Jorge Lorenzo could only manage the 5th fastest spot.

Rossi loosing over 3 tenths in the final sector, fast sweeping right-handers. Just 7 thousandths down in sector three, which is almost the opposite. The shoulder is still evident..?

..much better though and only 3 tenths shy of Caseys time in FP1 last year held in warmer conditions. 3 tenths faster than on the M1 last year. Hayden over a second slower! WTF is going on with his bike? Is he still testing the softer flex chassis?

It's Friday, although it's encouraging to see a Ducati up there I must remain cautious :)

For the time being...
JB :Honda will be the bike to beat next season & Yamaha will be slowly but surely the bike that is being downgraded over the next two years. IT WAS THE LAST YEAR PREDICTION OF HIM.
ME: LORENZO STARTS GETTING HEAVIER AND HEAVIER BURDENS ON HIS MIND AND SHOULDER AS THE DEFENDING CHAMPION THIS SEASON, THIS COULD BE WORSE THAN WHAT STONER EXPERIENCED IN 2008.

THIS SEASON
JLO IS THE DEFENDING WORLD CHAMPION, ALIVE MOTOGP FANS KNOW IT.
STONER IS THE MAN TO BEAT, I ONLY KNOW LORENZO AND YAMAHA FANS MAY DENY AND DISAGREE WITH IT.

TAI TAI TAI ........?????????

Very impressive from Rossi, it's nice to be able to discount about 95% of the incite across motogp sites over the last few months...

Nicky is apparently riding the flex pack(on both bikes) which apparently is the way to go. I suspect the development of the new chassis is as much about next year as this.

Looks encouraging for Rossi but it won't be until after Estoril that things really change.

The Honda and Yam will find another half second Saturday and Ducati won't.... A rossi fan boy I am - but I am predicting another 3rd row start for VR.

for the race: Lorenzo for the Win. Ped, Stoner... Simo, Rossi, spies..

Anyone else?
