Updated results for Superpole at Donington:
Superpole 1
Leon Haslam took an early lead in Superpole 1, with Marco Melandri closing in on the BMW rider's time. Carlos Checa took over 2nd spot before the halfway mark, but it was the Kawasaki of Tom Sykes who ended up on top of the timesheets, with a scorching lap before the end of Superpole 1.
Eugene Laverty looked like having ruled himself out of Superpole by writing off his Yamaha R1 on his first hot lap down Craner Curves. The Irishman returned to the track with four-and-a-half minutes to go. Laverty nearly saved himself on his final flying laps, but fell just short of going through to Superpole 2.
Out of Superpole 1: Eugene Laverty, Sylvain Guintoli, Maxime Berger, Ruben Xaus

Superpole 2
Carlos Checa won the battle of Superpole 2 in the first half of Superpole 2, putting a third of a second on the rest of the chasing pack led by Leon Haslam and Jonathan Rea. Jakub Smrz moved up to 2nd halfway through the session, bumping Haslam and Rea down a places. Most bizarre incident was between Marco Melandri and Max Biaggi, Melandri getting caught up in on-track banter with the Roman meaning he missed out on an opportunity to post a faster lap and get through to Superpole 3. Melandri ended up 9th and on the third row of the grid.
Out of Superpole 2: Marco Melandri, Troy Corser, Michel Fabrizio, Joan Lascorz

Superpole 3
Leon Haslam was the first rider to post a strong time in Superpole 3, with a lap of 1'28.365, but with Carlos Checa already having posted a 1'29.189, it was never going to stand. Carlos Checa soon bumped Haslam from pole, helped by Haslam making a mistake in the new version of the Foggy Esses, thereby also slowing up Max Biaggi and Leon Camier who were following the BMW rider around.
Checa looked like being the first man into the 1'27s on his following lap, but after being on pace in the first half of the lap, a mistake in the final section left the Althea Ducati incapable of improving his time. His time was good enough for pole, finishing ahead of BMW's Leon Haslam, with Tom Sykes putting in an impressive final lap to bag the 3rd spot on the grid, aehad of Jakub Smrz on the Effenbert Liberty Ducati.

...Biaggi & Melandri just keeps getting more & more interesting...
The usual Max, been following
The usual Max, been following him since 1990. He really shows what 'mind games' are. If Melandri's complaints are not enough, just ask Haga :)
