2010 Misano Moto2 Qualifying Practice Result - Another Pole Settled By A Very Slim Margin

Gresini's Toni Elias will start tomorrow's Moto2 race at Misano from pole, having conquered the Italian opposition that looked like dominating their local race. The locals who had dominated free practice had a tougher time of it during qualifying: Marc VDS Racing's Scott Redding is 2nd on the grid, while beside him is Mapfre Aspar's Julian Simon. Forward Racing's Jules Cluzel makes it a non-Italian shutout of the front row, the Frenchman having qualified in 4th. FIMMCO Speed Up's Andrea Iannone is the first Italian on the grid, and heads up the second row in 5th.

David can you go and talk to westy to find out what is going on? exellent last week and so slow this week..

I think Moto2 just has that potential to be a random result generator. Some people are consistently at the front and likely for a reason. But from Luthi in 15th all the way down there are some quality riders that have run at the front at some time during the year or have shown they are very talented in other seasons. It could be that it's an effect of some riders going well at tracks they like and slow at ones they don't. And the riders consistently at the front may just have a team or parts bin that helps make adjusting to a new track that much easier.
