Results and summary of Qualifying Practice for the 125cc class:
Marc Marquez' domination of the 125cc class continues at the Sachsenring, the Red Bull Derbi rider taking pole for Sunday's race in very convincing fashion. Marquez had been pushed hard for the pole by Tuenti Derbi's Pol Espargaro, swapping the lead throughout the session, but Espargaro cold not respond to Marquez' blistering lap, getting caught up in traffic in the final minutes of practice. Espargaro finished practice over half a second behind Marquez, though he was probably capable of more.
The gap behind the two Spaniards was significant. Bradley Smith would normally be pleased with the 3rd fastest time and a spot on the front row, but the Bancaja Aspar rider is nearly eight tenths off Espargaro, and over 1.3 seconds behind Marquez. Local rider Sandro Cortese - the German rider with the Italian name - rounds out the front row, less than a hundredth of a second behind Smith.

Wow
A 26.053 would have him in 5th in the morning Moto 2 session. I wonder where it would end up after Moto 2 qualifing. I guess we will find out soon enough.
10th on the grid
The time Marc Marquez posted would have put him 10th on the Moto 2 grid.
Pretty Impressive!
Having been to the Sachensring a couple of times
It's all corners and a couple of squirts. But Marquez is living up to his earlier hype as he matures. Someone mentioned he's a midget. As I understand he's been doing a bit of growing this year so his racing bio is out of date. A wise manufacturer will dangle a multi year big bike contract at him for 2011. Then again he's not a circus clown - that might make it a little more difficult.
