Andrea Iannone has topped the timesheet for the Moto2 class at Assen, heading up Toni Elias in the first session of free practice. In 3rd place sits the surprising Ratthapark Wilairot, the Thai rider beating out Shoya Tomizawa, while the Forward Racing team of Jules Cluzel and Claudio Corti are 5th and 6th, ahead of the FTRs of Alex Debon and Karel Abraham in 7th and 8th.

DeAngelis
DeAngelis must be crying right about now. He had a chance to be Biaggi's teammate in WSBK with a full factory salary, but now he's slugging it out in Moto2 with 40 other slightly psychotic riders.
DeAngelis and Canepa need to follow Guintoli's and Verme's example. Got to WSBK and make factory money. Both would probably be welcome at Ducati right now. They are having all kinds of problems on the factory team without Tardozzi and Bayliss.
P.S. I hope we get another first time Moto2 winner this weekend. Iannone does look strong though. It is important for him to win outside of Italy.

Not sure why he isnt working within the team - he could show them where the throttle was.

Things looked really good for de Angelis in the beginning of the season, he's had like 4-5 bad crashes since.
