2010 Le Mans Moto2 Qualifying Practice Result - Tight As Ever, With Four Manufacturers On The Front Row

Results and summary of qualifying for the Moto2 class:

Kenny Noyes has taken an impressive first pole during qualifying for Moto2 at Le Mans, on his first ever race weekend at the track. The Jack & Jones rider set the fastest time with plenty of time left in the session, deposing quasi-local rider Yuki Takahashi, riding for the French Tech 3 team. Alex Debon put in another strong performance on the Aeroport de Castello FTR, finishing ahead of another local hero, Frenchman Jules Cluzel of the Forward Racing team.

The Moto2 class continues to be incredibly close. One tenth of a second covers the entire front row, and a whole second covers 1st through 27th. With the times so close, everyone believes that with a good start, they stand a decent chance of winning, and carnage beckons again for the start of the Moto2 race on Sunday.

With Julian Simon qualifying in 7th and Mike Di Meglio in 29th, it doesn't appear the change to the Suter chassis from the RSV is really making that much of a difference for the Aspar team. Guess we'll have to wait and see the race results to know for sure...

Way to go Kenny!! :-)

can't be avoided, especially for Moto2 with a grid of 40+, but just not crazy about boosted qualifying times from tows. And they make a huge difference for some. Noyes off of Takahashi here. Hayden off of Pedrosa here. Capirossi off of Rossi at Qatar. Elias off of Simon at Qatar.

1.5 seconds separating the top 35 bikes is absolute insanity, what a great series this is turning out to be

41 bikes is really too many, should be maybe 30 at most plus a few wild cards, i really expected a lot of the teams signed up to drop out before the start of the season with lack of funds but it seems the new cheap class is working...possibly not to its benefit though

it's certainly not going to be sustainable into next year i guess

elias for the win tomorrow!!
