The factory Aprilia team put in a very strong charge at the end of Practice 2 to grab the top two spots on Friday, Aleix Espargaro pipping teammate Maverick Viñales by just two thousandths of a second to finish first.
Jack Miller was third quickest in the session, finishing ahead of Johann Zarco and Miguel Oliveira, while Alex Marquez was sixth fastest.
About half the field improved their times in Practice 2, meaning that a good position in the afternoon was no guarantee of a spot in Q2. Espargaro and Viñales are through to Q2, as are Dani Pedrosa and Jorge Martin, who were quicker in the morning. Jack Miller, Johann Zarco, and Miguel Oliveira made it through. Alex Marquez, Takaaki Nakagami, and Luca Marini complete the top ten going through to Q2 by right.
Both Pecco Bagnaia and Fabio Quartararo missed out on Q2, Bagnaia struggling to find a setup, the Ducati Lenovo Team turning his bike upside down in search of working setup. Quartararo may end up rueing not chasing a quick lap this morning, the Monster Energy Yamaha rider losing his best lap after losing the front at Turn 7.
There were a lot of crashes, with three of the four Honda riders going down, Joan Mir managing to crash twice.

Glad to see Ducati managed…
Glad to see Ducati managed to make Pecco's bike not as good, hopefully it solves his crashing issues.
