Livio Suppo To Leave HRC At End Of 2017

In a shock development, Repsol Honda team principal Livio Suppo is to leave HRC at the end of this season. The Italian still had a year on his contract, but decided to leave early. Neither his future destination nor his replacement are known at the moment.

Livio Suppo to leave HRC following 2017 MotoGP season

Honda Racing Corporation wishes to announce that Livio Suppo has decided to move on from his role as Repsol Honda’s Team Principal and leave the Company.

Livio Suppo joined HRC in 2010, as Communications and Marketing Director. From 2013 he assumed a dual-role as Team Principal of the Repsol Honda Team and HRC Communications and Marketing Director, giving a precious contribution in marketing, plus team and rider management.

Honda Racing Corporation wishes to thank Livio Suppo for the dedication, expertise and passion that have always distinguished his work and wishes him all the best for his future.

I will never forget all the good days we had together, and one more time I would like to say thanks to everybody in the team and at HRC for sharing these exciting years with me."

Any clue on why now, besides the official lines?

Going to Indy and Austin these past few years one of the parts I'm always most excited about is going to hear Livio talk at the Honda tent with the fans. He's always so candid!!! Always takes the time to answer as many questions as he can and just generally seemed like a good dude. Here's hoping Casey pressured HIM to come back to Ducati :)
