Aragon Moto3 And Moto2 Test Press Releases
Press releases from the Gresini Moto2 and Moto3 teams, and the Estrella Galicia Honda Moto3 team after their test at the Motorland Aragon circuit:
JUNIOR TEAM GO&FUN MOTO3 COMPLETES PRODUCTIVE ARAGON TEST
Junior Team GO&FUN Moto3’s Niccolò Antonelli and Enea Bastianini completed today a productive final day of testing at MotorLand Aragon, spending valuable hours on their KTM machines getting ready for the upcoming round of the World Championship, scheduled next June 28th in Assen.
Like yesterday during the first day of testing, Niccolò Antonelli completed another successful race simulation in order to regain the best feeling with his bike: 70 are the laps covered today by the Italian, who leaves Aragon very satisfied with the sensations obtained throughout his long runs.
After trying yesterday some new set-up solutions for the future, thus doing a job that was not possible to do during the race weekends, Enea Bastianini today worked on his riding, refining lines, and also tried to adapt his KTM machine to the Spanish track, which next September will host the Grand Prix of Aragon.
“Today I did another good race simulation and I am very happy: in these two days I had a chance to put in a lot of kilometers, and this is just what I needed to regain confidence with the bike. I managed to maintain a good pace, always very focused without making mistakes: this helped me so much”.
“Today was another positive day of testing: we kept a good pace working well on the bike and we identified some good solutions. I worked a little bit on my lines on this track and I covered not so many laps, but I’m not used to cover a lot of laps during testing”.
ARAGON TEST SIGNS OFF WITH STEADY IMPROVEMENTS FOR SIMEON AND BALDASSARRI
Xavier Siméon closed today the second and final day of testing at Motorland Aragon covering no less than 97 laps: the Belgian rider therefore leaves Spain tired but pleased with the progress made together with the Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 technicians. Siméon in fact tried a different chassis set-up solution that allowed him to keep a good pace and therefore now he looks with confidence to the next round at Assen, after the two disappointing races at Mugello and Barcelona.
In the Team Gresini Moto2 garage were 68 the laps completed by Lorenzo Baldassarri: also the Italian rookie scored good lap times, further enhancing the feeling with his Suter compared to yesterday.
“Today I did almost 100 laps and I'm really tired, but satisfied! We made a big step forward by trying different chassis solutions and also the new material provided by Suter. I’m happy with the good work done in these two days, although it’s been very tiring due to the high temperatures. Now we can head to Assen with great confidence”.
“Today we continued our work on the bike and we were able to find a better compromise with regard to the rear end: we scored some good lap times, especially in the morning, so we are satisfied. We then had some time to test new components provided by Suter, such as the fuel tank, and also new material for the braking system”.
Alex Marquez concludes two days of testing at Motorland Aragon
Spanish rider completes two-day runout with good feeling ahead of the Dutch TT Assen.
The Motorland Aragon Circuit hosted two intense days of testing for Alex Marquez and his team. Just four days after taking the first victory in the World Championship for the Honda NSF250RW, rider and crew continued with the development of the bike by putting in more than 780km. Teammate Alex Rins was unable to participate due to injury to his left foot, sustained last Saturday at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
The Repsol Moto3 rider concluded the test after a total of some 154 laps of the Spanish track, analysing different solutions for his chassis to use at forthcoming races. Marquez lowered the times he had set during the test in May at the same track.
With all the data from these two days of testing collected, the next challenge for the team will come next weekend at the Dutch TT Assen –round 8 of the season.
Alex Marquez 154 laps 782 km
"In the test we did at Mugello we could not test all the developments that we would have liked due to my crash, but these two days we had the opportunity to do all the testing we had planned and we are very pleased, because we have improved some things with the bike. We have also discarded some adjustments that were not going well for us, and that's important because that way we eliminate doubts and we can have things much clearer and well defined. Ahead of the Dutch TT, this test leaves us even more motivated."
