Oschersleben 3.667 kms. 14 kurves or corners. Lots of car racing & sidecars. Some up & down "elevation changes of 23 metres." according to wiki. Ive see a little bit of WSBK at Oschersleben on the PC. before video-pass. not enough to remember much. Looks like it is on some car games. never tried it from memory.

OK the triple left looks like fun. All the corners are different which is good. What makes Oschersleben special ? the three corners Shell, Amman & Bauer Kurve look rather interesting. The the final corner again with a great name Zeppelin Kurve.

They do need to put a big Dunlop tyre back on the Dunlop straight at Donington again.. still seems weird not seeing it even though it's been gone for years now!

Oscher is like possibly the greatest song in the world, but it's less than 3 minutes long so it's over before you know and there's no time to enjoy it.

I wasn't ignoring the importance of the straight bits, just trying to get a response from Faster1 regarding why Oschersleben.

Also wondering what is good about Valencia? People say Jerez is too short & tight for MotoGp bikes, if so Valencia is mostly very tight, 1st & 2nd gear corners. The last double left hander is a good one. the first part, fast left over the crest is a pearler!

Yes JanBros the straights are an important part of any circuit & set up the entry to corners. If the straight is short we may not need to brake for the curve, just chuck it into the corner or even keep accelerating into & through. Fast straight bits give us passing opportunities on acceleration, braking & corner entry.

I did a quick google maps on the resort and a bunch of streets all around. I imagine they will completely revamp this area to be a MotoGP track that happens to be a resort as well.

Any thoughts on how this will work?

Better choice, but it is a pity that PI is such a good circuit.
It is almost the most Southerly point on the Australian mainland (well its an island so can't be, but Wilson's prom nearby is).
There might be worse weather somewhere in Aus but I'm not sure where [emoji3525]

Take a look at the link, this is what the track looked like in last June after over two years of work. Do you think there will be a MotoGP race here in 17 months time?

That new Indonesian circuit sounds pretty cool - part street circuit that will be open to normal traffic in-between races.

Island of Lombok too so might be a good choice if you want to combine the bikes with a lazy beach holiday with white sand and scuba diving.

To be exact, the track company made a claim the track will be ready for testing in August. They have 5 months to achieve a lot more than they have in almost 3 years. There's only a single patch of tarmac, no runoffs, not a single building except the worker's huts, just an old sand pit with a bank of crushed rock where the track is going to run.
They are looking for volunteering personnel for the upcoming MotoGP events, so, just in case, I left my application today.

Just been watching Alex Barros & Ant West racing superbikes at Interlagos Brazil. Looks like a good track. Quite a bit of up & down. The downhill bit from turn 9 looks a bit like the corkscrew. These corners have names so they must be good. Pinheirinho, Bico de Pato & Mergulho.

Apparently they have some 4 wheelers race there.

What do you reckon ?

Or maybe that was the first three corners I was looking at. the Senna S. & Curva do Sol. I think it was.

Some parts of the circuit do not have much run off. some parts do, part grassy areas & lots of sealed run off areas.

Good taste in race tracks demonstrated by the best MotoGp brain in the universe "Suzuka, Spa Francorchamps are 2 I would like to see. MotoGP at Monza would be fun." I just saw this tweet on the main site. Yes David I agree & like Dr Emmett says funding the improvements would be the tough part.

Suzuka belongs to Honda, who have some money. Other potential investors, Tepco, for example, could do with some positive PR. Formula boring might pay for some track work as they use the circuit. Surely there could be hope for Suzuka. The Suzuka 8 hour is still the biggest race in Japan & Motegi is less than ideal. I would love to see MotoGp back at Suzuka.

Spa Francorchamps Their website calls it "the most beautiful circuit in the world" I think it is one of the greatest.
Again maybe Formula Yawn could put in something from petty cash.
Perhaps a Belgian beer company might be convinced to invest at Spa. Some beer would be consumed over a MotoGp weekend. Diamond money?

Monza, oh yes definitely lets get Monza back on the calendar. Much more exciting than Misano circuit Marco Simoncelli. Sorry Sic.
If Monza was a MotoGp track that might take some pressure off Mugello, safety wise. Come on Ferrari etc hand over lots & lots of lira.

Yes go ahead & tell me I am dreaming. Who would invest? I don't know. If Finland & Indonesia actually get built we will have too many circuits for the calendar.

I was also thinking about Pouhon which looks really fast when F1 goes there but on a bike that blanchimont does look unfixable.
