The BBC's Colin Murray, standing in for Simon Mayo had an interview with James Toseland on the show on Monday, which fortunately for us, is available as a podcast (direct link to an MP3 file). In it Toseland talks mostly about his time in Superbikes, and his double at Brands Hatch, but he also shed a little bit of light on the Yamaha team structure for 2008. Toseland says that there will be 4 Yamahas with the same (2008) spec on the grid next year, and that the reason he elected to join the Tech 3 Yamaha team was because this was the only team offering a full 2008 spec bike. The other offers he had (from Honda and Ducati) would have been aboard 2007 spec bikes, which would be a much less attractive prospect. No mention was made of what tires Toseland will be on next year, but it seems almost certain that they won't be Dunlops.
The podcast is approximately 15 minutes long, and well worth a listen. Many thanks to a reader called Spudracer for alerting us to this.
