Road racing 2021 - any good news anywhere?

It's not looking clever is it? :(
Anyone have anything to the contrary?

I'm afraid not although I only keep up to speed with the NW200, TT and Ulster, I'm sure I read that one of the smaller events are hoping to run in the summer but I've read that a fair number are cancelled.

The Cookstown 100 is scheduled for September and that was the only Irish road race that went ahead last year.

The Southern 100 and 4 Scarborough meetings are still pencilled in and currently the Manx Grand Prix is still scheduled though a friend of mine who lives on the Isle of Man says it's the worst kept secret that it's going to be officially called off next month which makes me think the Southern will also be called off in that case.

Seen this morning that the organisers of the Armoy road races are optimistic they can still run this summer.

I reckon the manx will be called off too - the problem is the Mountain Course extension to the licence and the need for signatures this year. If there isn't enough of the season beforehand, no-one can qualify.

Fingers crossed the shorter races will be able to go ahead.

Southern 100 cancelled now, just waiting for the announcement for the Manx which must be coming given that the Manx government has announced it won't be opening it's borders before September.

Sounds like the Ulster may be back next year, Brian McCormack has dropped a few hints in the Chasin' the Racin' podcast.

Nothing 100% confirmed yet but apparently a massive effort being made behind the scenes and Brian sounded very positive, so more of a "watch this space" sort of thing at the moment.
