Oils ain't oils

Post by Morpheus »

Yet again a rider has been pinged for dodgy oil. Poor Domi Aegetter. From the reports I have seen the team used the same oil they have always used which is the stuff they are supposed to use. So what is happening?
There is likely to be an appeal.
Do we need to have the oil checked and approved before it goes into the engine to prevent this type of occurrence?
We don't want to see a championship decided days after the racing has stopped and in the court of appeal.

The article I read stated that a small benefit can be achieved by using a thinner oil, something like 1 or 2 pony's. I'm more inclined to believe the comment that it may be contamination from oil used in the assembly of the clutch.

The real issue is that there is an official supplier of oil and that supplier wouldn't be happy with the $$$ its handed over if the championship is won with someone else's oil
My signature isn't particularly interesting
