Le Mans 1955

Post by Mikesbytes »

The most dangerous event of all time across all motoring codes and probably all sporting events short of the what the romans did https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1955_Le_Mans_disaster

There's an animated story of the race and the tragedy put out a couple of days ago https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22I7yJiOu0s
My signature isn't particularly interesting

fascinating

Is this the watershed between the post-WW2 attitude to risk (early GPs had a pretty flip attitude to death) and the road to the current view on life? Salutary viewing for anyone complaining about catch-fences
