Re: 2012 Round 5 Catalunya Race Topic **Spoilers**

Was this a way of saying "look, we are watching you, and if you ride dangerously we can cost you a race" ? If so, there are surely better ways of doing it. In all honesty I don't think it was either riders fault. Marquez almost losing the front created an unusual situation - pushing him off-line, th...

Re: 2012 Round 5 Catalunya Race Topic **Spoilers**

Apparently they have given Marquez a one minute penalty for that incident and that puts him in 24th and rabat on the podium. Bad decision imo. If teh race directions is pressured to make decicions because your peers didn´t make them it is just as bad as not making any decisions at all.... I have to...

Re: 2012 Round 5 Catalunya Race Topic **Spoilers**

Wow.. some really, how shall I say, 'emotive' comments regarding the racing! :D First of all, GREAT to see Spies running near the front, even though it was over too soon. I'm sure there was a world-wide groan when he went down (or, a large groan then a smaller one exactly one hour later from everyon...

Re: 2012 Round 5 Catalunya Race Topic **Spoilers**

To be honest, I'm really, really surprised at the attitude towards Marquez on Pol, or rather Pol on Marquez! It was a racing incident, nothing more, with both riders trying to occupy the same piece of track. This was the opinion of the guys on Eurosport, and the people I was watching the race with -...

Re: 2012 Round 5 Catalunya Race Topic **Spoilers**

Looks like the rain will stay away now, they are saying it might come in later today or tomorrow. Really great 125 race! I was cringing every time Rossi came past with that exhaust waving about, hope he is OK as he had quite a large burned patch on the ass of his leathers towards the end of the race...

Re: Dodgy version of - Catalunya Predictions anyone?

If dry, I think Stoner will walk this one. His speed on hard tyres is good. Sure he didn't do long runs but I suspect he knows what he is up to. Stayed on hard tyres all through FP, switched to the softer option with 30 to go in Qual, got it dialed in with a couple quick exits and then smashed out ...

Re: 2012 Round 5 Catalunya Race Topic **Spoilers**

Well, I guess they were both similar moves. Undoubtedly Nakagami's move ended up worse! But, the organisers made a statement when they decided not to punish Marquez with the Luthi incident, so it would be unfair to punish Nakagami now. Good to see Ben up there. He is the Yamaha rider with the most l...

Re: Dodgy version of - Catalunya Predictions anyone?

OK, aside from the usual top 3 up front: - Bradl for a top 5, he was up there every practice session and qualifier on race rubber, and he looks like he is really going for it on track. - Depending on weather: Yamaha if it's roasting, Hondas if it is cooler or that thunder-storm comes tonight (going ...

Re: 2012 Round 5 Catalunya Race Topic **Spoilers**

I think both moves were similar in that they showed a lack of consideration for the other rider on the track. But I agree, I'm amazed Nakagami hasn't already got a 3 race ban ;) (remembering the Hopkins/Tamada banning fiasco from some years ago) For the GP's, am I correct in assuming that the race t...

Re: Factory Rides

With Doohan it was injury, rather than lack of speed, which kept him from winning the title IIRC on 2 separate occasions. It was obvious the speed was there, and if he could make a season without having a horrific crash, then he could win. Obviously Honda must have thought so as well, and their supp...

Re: BSB Snetterton, Sunday 27th **Spoilers**

Yes I think so too! I was kind of worried that Jonathan Palmer had spent a load of money to get him into the series (Haga being well known for always getting a good wage packet throughout his career) only for us to get 'can't be arsed Haga' who appeared on the odd occasion previously. And, again som...

Re: BSB Snetterton, Sunday 27th **Spoilers**

Closest ever QP for BSB as Brookes got pole by 0.001 of a second! He is looking so focused and determined this year, I think this might be his best ever performance and he is certainly a hell of a lot more consistent than he has been in the past. Looks like absolutely baking weather there and with a...

Re: MOTM rnd 4 2012 LeMans **Spoilers**

With all the discussions about Jerez 2011 involving Stoner and Rossi, that was also a wet race Lorenzo won by a good margin. The Yamaha is a very capable bike in the wet I'd say, pretty much every wet race we've had recently there have been Yamaha riders near the front. Yes I think the 4-stroke Yam...

Re: HRC just tweeted that '12 will be Stoner's last year in

As someone who was at that race at Donington 07, I feel there is something important that needs clearing up about that race. First of all, it's important not to try and rationalise it by saying 'well the Brits don't like Stoner because of x', because right there you have put more thought to it than ...

BSB Snetterton, Sunday 27th **Spoilers**

Making an avatar picture

Hey guys, I'm a bit inept as far as computers are concerned, and was hoping someone could help me with this. Now I quite fancied adding an avatar picture but while I am able to resize it to 90x90 I can't get it down to anything like 6kb in size, which it is saying is the maximum size for an uploaded...

Re: SUZUKI

It's funny, but having read Rossi's biography I thought it far more likely that he would have gone to Suzuki than Ducati. He had originally looked at the latter when he left Honda, but dismissed it because he felt the company 'culture' was too similar to the Japanese company - their particular effor...

Interesting that Honda seem opposed to the Rookie rule, and by the sounds of that would want to circumvent it.

Although, the interviewer doesn't make reference to T. Moody's quote from Ezpelata which opens with "No No NOOO!" :)

That was an awesome race! Not sure if mattered that much with Iannone, no doubt if he had gained a position from it, the other team involved would have complained and there would have been a penalty. Any idea what Iannone looked so pissed about after the race though? Smith binning it on the final co...

Re: 2012 Le Mans Race Topic **Spoilers**

I remember years ago in WSB Edward's Honda SP2 was a little underweight. So, they added a little starter button on it! So many of the guys in Moto3 are below the minimum, why not employ some kind of similar system? Although Neil Spalding on Eurosport reckoned that it was still fairly straightforward...

Re: Silly season 2013

The guys on Eurosport were hypothesizing that it's one of the reasons he has stayed on the Tech3 bike, something that is having almost zero development, this year. Tech3 have essentially told him, "look we know it's not as good as the other chassis' out there, but just hang about for another year an...

Yep. Rain does not always produce great racing. Although it did today! :) I found all of them to be uncomfortable viewing though, the Moto3 in particular where every 10 seconds the camera seemed to be cutting to someone picking the bike up from the gravel. Wonderful ride by Rossi (the younger), gre...

Re: 2012 Le Mans Race Topic **Spoilers**

Well, with the exception of Stoner (who I think must surely have some kind of Mario Kart-style shortcut somewhere around the track!) it is very, very close. Even Bradl in 12th is only 1 second from Cal's time in 2nd. Good to see Rossi has a bit more pace this weekend as well! Can anyone comment on t...

Re: Silly season 2013

During coverage of FP2 on Eurosport, Toby Moody said that Nakamoto has ruled out there being 2 Spanish riders at Repsol. Interesting stuff - assuming that Pedrosa stays where he is, that means we can rule out Lorenzo and Bautista for that other ride. I don't think it's likely that Repsol HRC will ru...
