Re: 2017 Round 12 - Octo British Grand Prix

Maverick won this on a Suzuki last year, and Marquez was only fourth behind Cal and Vale. If Yamaha is going to still be in this championship, this seems to be a place to show it. A lot will depend on temperature. And getting the tyres to work. But Don't rule out MM93 Sent from my SM-G361F using Ta...

Re: 2017 round 11: Red Bull Ring Austria

I don't understand MotoGP as much as others on here, but I thought that this was a true championship level ride from Dovi. I really thought that Marquez would have this. First, it looked as if the Ducatis were wearing their tyres out and were about to go backwards, but it seemed that things stabilis...

Re: 2017 Round 10: Monster Energy Grand Prix České republiky

Surely the main factor that Rossi should have been aware of is the condition of the track. At his level, you'd expect him to be super-aware of how the track is changing and to be able to pick the right lap to come in based solely on his own performance, let alone the information from the fast sector...

Re: 2017 Round 10: Monster Energy Grand Prix České republiky

When I saw Marquez come back out and start going quick, I knew that Rossi would stay out and throw the race away.

And of course he did. Why is it not as obvious to him as it is to all of us?

Re: Silly Season 2017

The Jorge/Ducati love story looks less and less likely to play out with every passing race. I would love to see what he could do on the Suzuki. Mostly I just miss watching butterhammer in his element, that has been lacking for me this season, in an otherwise very interesting championship. Lots of D...

Re: 2017 round 9: Sachsenring

It is easy for someone to get a fast time early on by taking more out of their tyres than they should. I think we need to be careful about being impressed by someone who is fast at one point of the race but runs out of tyres, when comparing to someone who may have had a slower fastest lap. @Mikesbyt...

Re: 2017 round 9: Sachsenring

On one hand, yes. On the other, once we ignore Marquez because he is a Sachsenring freak, suddenly it's the same as in Le Mans, a Tech3 beating a Repsol Honda. So I don't know. The Tech3 beat all the factory Yamahas too. Maybe Folger is a Sachsenring freak as well. Good race, and a close championsh...

Re: 2017 round 9: Sachsenring

I am struggling to see the advantage or reason for the two tier qualifying system, when guys out of the second tier system 'qualifying one' out qualify the top 10 but it doesn't count for anything. Miller with his time would have been, should have been, fourth. This is not the first time this has h...

Re: 2017 round 9: Sachsenring

Petrucci on the front row again. I guess all of a sudden we might have to get used to this. Which is nice. It appears that there are some riders who can ride the Ducati, and some who can't. Petrucci is proving himself one of the former. A Pramac second from first, but also a Pramac second from last...

Re: 2017 round 8 : Assen

Of interest is the 5 second gap between Rossi/Petrucci and Marquez/Crutchlow/Dovi. It seems that in those wet laps that Rossi & Petrucci were heaps better than the others. Could it be that, as is often claimed but rarely happens, the hard tyre was actually an advantage at the end of the race. So th...

most of the above discussion is from early June.

The Ducati looks a much more competitive beast now. And Petrucci on the GP17 is how far ahead of Redding on the GP16?

Re: 2017 round 8 : Assen

Yep, 14th after a pit stop and a ride through penalty... ahead of Lorenzo! Has Lorenzo said anything about why he was so slow? I'm guessing that he's having trouble finding setups. If so, that shows how little difference there is between the bikes, given that he was beaten by a KTM. On the Rossi Vs...

Assen 2017

That was a brilliant race. While other people loved it, I thought the Moto3 race was confusing with too many challengers. The Moto2 race was, in my opinion, much better. Great to see Nakagami competing at the front. I'd like to know how much of his improvement is due to the team, and how much is due...

Re: 2017 round 8 : Assen

*Jealous*

Returning to the race: The Ducati is starting to look to be a match for the Yamahas and Hondas at quite a few tracks. Progress.

Rossi certainly showed that he still has it in him. He looked like the Rossi from the mid 2000s. A true champion's drive.

Vinales .... ?????????

And Folger is the fastest Yamaha?

Does anyone else think that there must be a high probability that Marquez will crash out tomorrow?

So, what is going on with Yamaha here?

An Aprilia in 5th? Before any of the Yamahas, factory or custom? I know they have an engine with a few more horses, but 5th?

Somebody please explain.

Re: 2017 round 6 - Gran Premio d'Italia Oakley Mugello

I was surprised to see Rossi on the front row. Given that early on in practice he was nowhere, perhaps he has a good race pace. I think it plausible that he'll fade in the race, but we'll see that later today. Zarco's qualifying is disappointing, Interesting to note how is qualifying time is slower ...
