Re: WSBK round 2

They are back! Old man Melandri remembers how to ride a racebike, Chaz is still faster than Marco M. Hoping Marco 33 will be up to Chaz's pace some time on Saturday. I'd like Chaz Davies to up his pace a bit too! Practice was curious for MM93. He went a little slower in the avro. Race fitness or hea...

Re: 2020 world championship prediction

Not expecting my prediction to work, I picked Marc but if 93 wins & Fabio takes second Marquez improves his position by 5 points. Using that simple scenario Marc has to win ten times to pick up 50 points. M Marquez could do it based on recent form. But needs plenty of races. If we loose rounds, Barc...

Re: Young Marco M in WSBK

Marco Melandri has had a ride on the Barni Ducati with Showa suspension at Cremona in Italy. I dont know this circuit at all. The track is 3.45 kilometres long with a 970 metre straight. Jonas Folger has done a 1m25second lap on a Yamaha last year. The bike Jonas was on looks like a YART endurance r...

Yes Mikesbytes Randy K. would have made sense to me. Or a young racer, but... Schwantz34 has the news correct afaik https://www.roadracingworld.com/news/world-superbike-barni-racing-brings-back-melandri/ Welcome back Marco! If M.M.33 gets up to speed like Phillip Island 2018 on the Ducati V4R; look ...

Leon Camier out for this season.

https://www.roadracingworld.com/news/wo ... part-ways/

So there is a ride going in SBK on a Ducati V4R.
With a good independent team.

Michele Pirro? Mike Jones? Who is your pick?

Re: 2020 world championship prediction

Marc Marquez wins the championship. Don't know how many races we will have. Don't know if we will go to Argentina. I think it is very unlikely. Don't expect we will go to Cota. Hope America gets on top of the plague but not optimistic. Thailand & Malaysia seem unlikely. Maybe by November Sepang coul...

Re: Ducati in WSBK in 2020

Interesting test at Misano circuit Marco Simoncelli Haven't quite absorbed all the info. But the times are close. Scott Redding is very fast & will probably do well. Hopefully more consistent than Alvaro Bautista. S.R.45 could be the one to win a championship for Ducati. For the first time since...C...

Re: Racing circuit pantheon

Found some more wisdom from Kropotkin; when asked (by CLX) regarding Mugello "What is it that makes the races so close? Lack of first gear hairpins?" Krop posted "Actually, first gear hairpins can work in favor of good racing too. It just depends on where they're placed. But the secret to Mugello is...

As an aussie Ducati nut I hope Jack Miller does well.

Good luck to Danilo Petrucci to. I hope he does land himself a good ride.

Re: Silly Season

I would say Ducati goes with Honda & KTM plenty of power coupled with adequate cornering. Last year it seemed Ducati was down on corner speed compared to the Suzuki & Yamahas. The Ducati seemed to have better corner speed than the KTM most of the time. The GP19 may have been better in the turns than...

In defense of Old Tom. Mikesbytes I think you should have gone back a bit further. Kawasaki SBK world champions with Scott Russell on the ZXR750 back in 1993... Then nothing for twenty years until Tom Sykes wins the championship in 2013 Tom has beaten Jonathon many times on the same bike(2015 to 201...

The motorcycle GP at Motegi has been called off, & will not take place this year, despite the importance of the race to the Japanese manufacturers. https://www.motogp.com/en/news/2020/06/01/motul-grand-prix-of-japan-cancelled/331191 Not quite as prestigious as the Suzuka 8 hour race but rather speci...

No spectators at this round. Commencing next Friday the 29th. After that, wait & see.

Seems like they are adapting to the state requirements and expecting things to change as time goes by.

Or they are making it up as they go.

MotoAmerica 2020

Looks like MotoAmerica is getting very serious about actually racing in 2020. One of the better US circuits at Road America near Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. 4 miles, 6.5 kilometres is a long lap. Not suitable for racers with a short attention span. Fast & challenging, with a bit of up & down, as I like...
