Re: Racing circuit pantheon Thanks for comments

Thanks Brigdonia I see that I read it wrong of corse Qatar is flat, my mistake. I agree P.I. is "ace! :D" The offer still stands if your coming to the island. Thanks CLX I have only watched races at Aragon on the tele & looked at a track map. I have not decided either way, not decision to make. Davi...

Aragon ? I have my doubts, but will wait until after the Gp this weekend. British MotoGp, Donington & Silverstone to fight it out in a winner take all death match !!!! And the winner is Motorcycle racing, Yay! We continue to await Kropotkin & some more wise input. I agree CLX we should look after fa...

Re: fast and challenging circuits

Fast and challenging circuits in that case we must include Spa - Francochamps it is definitely fast! I think it was Barry Sheene won at an average speed of about 180 Ks on a 500 back in 1977 or so.

Oh yes I see it was there already.

Re: Racing circuit pantheon

Classic races at Donington. Ralf Waldmann in 2000 on an Aprilia 250 came from a long way back. Almost a lap down & made a good race, picked up a good result. the race went right to the last lap, final corner, very tasty!

Re: Racing circuit pantheon

OK CLX I see your comment. I was think Silverstone & Donington have both held Bike Gps. the standard of those two is a bit higher than the rest of the circuits. I know there are a LOT of tracks in the U.K. I have included a few already & am happy to take on board any suggestions you have. i.e. Brand...

Re: Donington circuit

Kropotkin, I understand that Donington is not your favourite circuit. I think the choice between Donnybrook & Silverspoon is getting closer & if MSV upgrade the facilities to a high standard for the motorcycles, Donington should be better than a bumpy Silverstone run by the car people. Or resurface ...

Re: Racing circuit pantheon

brigdonia you write " Phillip Island. I like the layout but no elevation change or crowd make this a damp squib" I beg to differ. Come with me for a walk around the track. The Wayne Gardner straight undulates a bit, it is downhill into Doohan corner, southern loop has complex camber & is downhill on...

But Brigdonia Too Insane is just perfect for a race track. Yes Kenup283 that is a good one i have found some other resources that are quite useful, handy for research before my radio show. Sadly Trackpedia seems gone. http://www.silhouet.com/motorsport/tracks/tracks.html http://www.gdecarli.it/php/i...

Remember Max's wheelie

Oh yeah lets not forget Max's wheelie, wasn't that Brno, late nineties, Massimiliano almost flips over backwards, stomps the rear brake, slams his tackle against the back of the tank. Ouch! Get well soon Max Biaggi. Thanks again MikesBytes

Max takes Pole position ahead of the all conquering Mick Doohan. and Max wins his first EVER 500cc Grand prix after Me and all my mates wrote him off as a 250 specialist. I tho...

Congratulations to Cal Crutchlow. He has been the test rider doing lots of work all this year, all the off season & some of last year. No point using a slow test rider is there. At least Jorge Lorenzo has not knocked the number one Repsol Honda rider off his bike in a race. V.R. 46 lost me when he went to apologize to C.S. 27 With his Helmet ON. is not only what it sounds like, but imho a fact. CS is the most talented rider I've had the privilige of seeing over the +/- 30 y...

Re: MACAU GUIA circuit in Racing circuit pantheon

I have just learn that a good mate raced at the MACAU Gp back in the seventies. Mike Parer informs me he started 30th & finished 6th. I am impressed. on a Yamaha td2c, with skinny tyres & drum brakes. totally awesome So that does it for me. I had considered MACAU GUIA circuit as you can see in my ea...

Re: Racing circuit pantheon

I had a bit of a think & came up with a few more candidates, Brands Hatch, Cemetery circuit N.Z., such a great name for a racetrack. Donington over Silverspoon? Estoril Portugal, Termas, Interlagos, Rio or somewhere in south America.I quite like the old track in Rio circuito Nelson Piquet, MotoGp we...
