Re: Toprak Appreciation Page

I like Toprak. He is approachable in the paddock. Good fast rider. I got an autograph.

Appreciation.

Re: WSBK in 2020

That was a good race. Not as intense as some I've seen, but well worth watching. Apparently Honda recently did quite a bit of testing at Aragon. 8 days says Steve English. Working on speed down that long final straight. That worked, they were just as fast as the Ducatis on the straight. Didn't turn ...

Re: Marquez

Two months from last Friday would be after Aragon 1 & before Aragon 2. MM93 could potentially win 4 races. That's 100 points. Nowhere near enough! Three months from Friday would be the final round at Portimao. Round 15 (minus one due to no MotoGp at Qatar) Miguel Oliveira is going to win that one! N...

Re: Marc Marquez maths

Misano 1 is the next round in 3 weeks time. That would be more than two months since the injury. Marc Marquez probably won't be racing, but for the sake of argument lets pretend MM93 might race. Including Misano there are nine races after Styria today/tonight. If Marc won all 9. 9 x 25 = 225 points....

Re: BSB 2020 S 300

They are at Snetterton300. The long circuit including the new infield section afaik. Too many first gear corners according to one source. Looks to me like there are only 2 or 3 slow corners. Some like the layout some don't. I'd like to hear what it's like from a rider. Danny Buchan on pole for the f...

Re: Dovi done with Ducati after 2020

Dovi smashed everyone at misano 2018, when Lorenzo binned it on the last lap 3 seconds or so behind Dovi. That's one straight off the top of my head Wasn’t that a wet race? MotoGp says "no" it is recorded as a dry race; https://www.motogp.com/en/Results+Statistics Looks like that link doesn't work ...

Re: ASBK Superbike championship

The incredible shrinking ASBK championship. Only four rounds; is this a real National title? "Doesn't count for anything unless Marc Marquez is racing." Said some bitter & twisted old man who won a single 500 race last century. Wakefield and Winton are my two closest tracks. I am planning to go to b...

Re: BSB 2020

Predicting the unpredictable in a time of changes. I would like to see Tommy Bridewell win the championship. Particularly because Tommy is riding a Ducati. Would also be happy to see Josh Brookes win again. Because he is an Aussie on a Ducati. I expect Brookesy will gather up more points than Christ...

Re: Moto GP schedual and the corona virus...

Istanbul park circuit In my opinion the circuit is a good one. MotoGp has actually raced there in 2005, 6 & 2007. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turkish_motorcycle_Grand_Prix It is a lot better than the average Tilkedrome. Some good bits the fast right hander on the back "straight" turn 11 or faux ro...

Re: WSBK Champ 2020

The three Rs; Rea, Redding & Razgatlioglu. All 3 could take the chip in 2020. Three different bikes, 3 riding styles, all very good on their day. Will be interesting to see how the chip develops over a few more different circuits. I think the BMW will be closer to the front by the end of the season....

Re: Moto GP schedual another round?

I've recently seen a bit of info from Suzuki Racing. An extra race would be interesting. The article says "The FIM, IRTA and Dorna Sports will announce the venue for the new season finale next week, August 10th" I expect the season to finish at Valencia in the middle of November. This piece suggests...

Re: WSBK round 2

They are back! Old man Melandri remembers how to ride a racebike, Chaz is still faster than Marco M. Hoping Marco 33 will be up to Chaz's pace some time on Saturday. I'd like Chaz Davies to up his pace a bit too! Practice was curious for MM93. He went a little slower in the avro. Race fitness or hea...

Re: 2020 world championship prediction

Not expecting my prediction to work, I picked Marc but if 93 wins & Fabio takes second Marquez improves his position by 5 points. Using that simple scenario Marc has to win ten times to pick up 50 points. M Marquez could do it based on recent form. But needs plenty of races. If we loose rounds, Barc...

Marco Melandri has had a ride on the Barni Ducati with Showa suspension at Cremona in Italy. I dont know this circuit at all. The track is 3.45 kilometres long with a 970 metre straight. Jonas Folger has done a 1m25second lap on a Yamaha last year. The bike Jonas was on looks like a YART endurance r...

Leon Camier out for this season.

So there is a ride going in SBK on a Ducati V4R.
With a good independent team.

Michele Pirro? Mike Jones? Who is your pick?

Marc Marquez wins the championship. Don't know how many races we will have. Don't know if we will go to Argentina. I think it is very unlikely. Don't expect we will go to Cota. Hope America gets on top of the plague but not optimistic. Thailand & Malaysia seem unlikely. Maybe by November Sepang coul...

Re: Racing circuit pantheon

Found some more wisdom from Kropotkin; when asked (by CLX) regarding Mugello "What is it that makes the races so close? Lack of first gear hairpins?" Krop posted "Actually, first gear hairpins can work in favor of good racing too. It just depends on where they're placed. But the secret to Mugello is...

Re: Silly Season

I would say Ducati goes with Honda & KTM plenty of power coupled with adequate cornering. Last year it seemed Ducati was down on corner speed compared to the Suzuki & Yamahas. The Ducati seemed to have better corner speed than the KTM most of the time. The GP19 may have been better in the turns than...
