KTM in 2021

Will KTM be allowed to introduce a new engine in 2021 and have other advantages against the other factories minus Aprilia?

I seem to recall reading/discussing that, but I don't know if things have changed. Or maybe that wasn't right in the first place.

If Dovi is leading the championship in May/June, what do they do then?

Is it unthinkable that next year or a year later we could see Marquez retiring before Rossi does?

I agree. At one point he looked as if he was fading, and then he came back with a FL.

He should be a contender next year as well.

Re: What is happening Aprilia

I'm honestly at a loss to think which factory is the worst managed. I might need to make a separate thread. Aprilia is up there but a big part of it is a lack of commitment from the mothership, which begs the question "what's the point?" I suspect they're getting the publicity/status that they need...

Re: What is happening Aprilia

I'm guessing they don't have any money to pay for riders and also Aprilia isn't being seen as a path to greatness by the Moto2 riders, so better off to get a great result in Moto2 and then move to a team that can put you on the podium. https://www.mcnews.com.au/aprilia-motogp-rider-line-up-finally-...

Re: R15 - Grande Prémio MEO de Portugal Algarve International Circuit PORTUGAL

I think this race will be a good opportunity for someone to mark their claim for next year. Of course, a fully fit Marc would automatically be favourite, but we don't know if he will be fully fit. Personally I hope that someone like Vinales or Dovi who have been disappointing this year claw somethin...

Re: Marquez 2021

That is definitely very big news. I too thought that his career might be shorter than it otherwise might be due to injury. However, I never even thought that this might be the end of it. It does sound very complicated, and uncertain as to how things will pan out. Even if he can return and be quick a...

Thanks @MiniNinjaMk5 I'm way behind on everything. I was initially wondering about Morbidelli not getting the latest Yamaha, but then I read this: https://www.crash.net/motogp/news/948747/1/morbidelli-insists-latest-yamaha-m1-still-better-choice-2021-2019-bike FQ seemed all-conquering at the very st...

Re: R14 Gran Premio Motul de la Comunitat Valenciana 15 Nov

Morbidelli is now 17 points ahead of Quartararo in the championship. Some of that is consistency and not falling off. However, I think it's notable that they are likely to end up in this order in the championship. For a while it's seemed as if people think that Quartararo is an alien in waiting whil...

Well, that was an exciting race! Great ride and deserved win by Morbidelli. And, great to see Mir sealing the deal. While Mir has his win, this is the way that he won it by consistently scoring. So, I don't think there's anything disappointing to see a win with a 7th place. And, Quartararo is curren...

What alternative viewpoints should be 'debated rationally'? And how is OFCOM stifling such debate? When have you seen on TV a serious discussion and debate from anyone with an opposing view to Government policy? OFCOM are policing the UK media and you have to follow the government message: https://...

There are lots of alternative and counter view points and opinions out there to the musings in your post, and it's a real problem that OFCOM have stifled the media so those views don't get heard and debated rationally. I won't get into them here as I tried that on the previous page and it didn't go...

Re: Moto GP schedual and the corona virus...

I'm not sure I'd be celebrating the Australian or New Zealand approach as it sounds like it's been pretty draconian for the supposed free world, plus it's only possible if you're the end-of-the-line station. They now have to keep the doors shut indefinitely if they want to maintain their current st...

A normal calendar would be nice. But, I occasionally check what is being said in the comments sections on tabloid newspapers. My hopes for a resolution to covid-19 are not high. Smith is, alas, never going to set the world on fire. Ironically, his measured approach might make him more use to a championship-chasing team. For Aprillia, gambling on a new rider who might do something spectacular is going to be a better return on the money spent. I wonder if there is much testi...

I just don’t think he’s anywhere near as good as he thinks he is or Yamaha hoped he would be.
Yamaha can't be blamed for giving up quickly. What we're seeing with Petronas shows what relatively unexperienced (but talented riders) can do on the bike.

This second wave in Europe is looking really nasty. I'm wondering if there's any risk of the last 3 events getting cancelled? In the Moto2 today Sam Lowes was utterly dominant - nobody could touch him. I haven't looked at the points, but it must be close by now. ... I have looked, and Lowes is now in the lead by seven points, having out-scored Bastianini by nine points in this race. Luca Marini appears to be doing a Reddin...

Honda have made a bunch of changes to suit Alex's ride style said some article I read. It does make me wonder that with Marc missing that there has been more focus on the other Honda riders. I would guess that FQ will not make the same tyre pressure error, and expect him to be challenging for the win. I'll predict that Alex Marquez will again do relatively well compared to the earlier part of the season. Not sure if he'll challenge for the win. But, we'll see. I thought that Michelin we...
