Re: BSB 2020

I've just seen the highlights. Yep, after the first race of the weekend it looked pretty open. ** Spoilers *** But, Brookes then utterly smashed it with his two wins. That's how to seal the deal. I'll now go back to my pre-season prediction of a Brookes championship, and pretend that my changes of m...

Re: Jake Dixon

Awesome news that Jake has re-signed with Petronas for next year, think he definitely deserves it. Moto2 is probably one of the toughest classes to race, and he has only been on that Kalex chassis for a short period of time. Yes, that's good news. Not all riders get a fair shake of the stick, and i...

Re: WSBK in 2020

I've now seen the final weekend. Rea's championship hasn't really been in doubt for a long time. Scott tried this year, but Rea had too much of an advantage over the year. It'll be interesting to see if he can up a level with experience. The win and a Ducati 1-2 was a great way for Davies to end his...

Re: 2020 world championship prediction

Dovi winning would be the largest middle finger ever. And the awkwardness. I am surprised Maverick has been able to hang in for so long. If only Mir could steal a win and build a cushion... but I still feel Quartararo will take it even if he has to sweat much more than I expected before. Maverick i...

Re: MotoGP Rnd 10 Gran Premio Michelin® de Aragón

Alex Marquez is my rider of the day. One thing: People were saying before that Honda had put all their eggs in the Marc Marquez basket, and if Marc left they would be in the doldrums for a long time. It looks as if their recovery could be shorter than previously predicted. I wonder how, if Marc retu...

Re: Jake Dixon

I think 4th is a good result for Jake. Imagine how pleased everyone would have been with that a few races ago. I think that Jake has done enough to stay this year and have a crack at the championship. For Sam Lowes, the actual championship should be possible this year. Particularly if we continue wi...

Re: MotoGP Rnd 10 Gran Premio Michelin® de Aragón

For me the most important story from qualifying was Quartararo falling off in FP3 or FP4 (?) and still being OK. That could have been his championship challenge failing right there. I'm expecting a FQ win tomorrow, and that could easily be the start of him cementing a championship. Mir and Miller ar...

Re: MotoGP Rnd 10 Gran Premio Michelin® de Aragón

After FP3 it appears that every single bike on the grid is working at this track, except for the Ducatis. My prediction: Dovi won't get out of Q1, and will lose major ground in the championship in the race. I read somewhere that he'd done a practice start next to Pedrosa on a KTM without it and wee ...

Re: WSBK in 2020

I feel like Rea at Kawasaki in WSB is almost like Marquez at Honda in Moto GP, ie he gets a big say in who his teamate is. I wouldn't think he would have Davies because Redding aside Chaz is the only other rider that might put a decent title challenge up. The rest are just too inconsistent Yes. I w...

Re: MotoGP Rnd 10 Gran Premio Michelin® de Aragón

Eyes out for Maverick. If he turns off LC and has a stinker of a first lap, will he blame himself? Why would he turn off launch control? That's a genuine question. Their launch control must be poor if he turns it off. But I thought that MV loses places not just at the beginning, but in the first fe...

If Toprak is a name in WSBK now, would it be too much of a step down for him to go to Moto2, and from there move to MotoGP?

Re: Moto GP schedual and the corona virus...

I suppose we shouldn't forget Rossi. As a fit person of his age, the chance he will die of the illness is small. However, 'long Covid' is a possibility and could finish his career. Concerning. About a replacement, all the suggestions here are interesting. Razgatlioglu, Folger, Lorenzo, Baz. I just h...

He has shown great promise in some races, but he's been up and down a bit. As have many riders. He has the experience in Moto2, and he'll have the bike. And, he has the name. Looking forward to seeing how it works out.

Re: MotoGP R9 - Shark Helmets GP de France

Hey everyone, there's been a race today. I missed the start of the Moto3 race, and John McPhee was already gone by the time I tuned in. In Moto2 Jake Dixon really is coming on. Pity about the fall. A safer rider to second place would still have been a great result, but it was win it or bin it. For M...

Re: BSB 2020

I've finally caught up on the races. Shall I point out now that I predicted Brookes for the championship before the season started? Can we just conveniently forget that I revised that opinion after seeing how strong the Hondas and Irwin brothers were after race one. ;) ;) ;) Iddon is doing better th...

Re: WSBK in 2020

I've just (finally) seen Round 7. It was good to see Scott managing to hang on by a thread, and win the last race. But, it still is hanging on by a thread. When it gets to the point where the 'excitement' is about 2nd place staying in mathematical contention, then we can start polishing the silverwa...

Re: MotoGP R9 - Shark Helmets GP de France

FP3 looking promising in the title fight for Quartararo. Mir is going through Q1. Rins further back, so Suzuki is at fault I guess.

Excellent result for Olivera. But, let's see what happens in quali.

I agree the battle is between Petrona Yamahas and Mir, but Quartararo is my favourite. The M1's qualifying advantage is huge and forces Mir into needing perfect rides to reach the podium instead of attacking for the win from the start.
But, Mir is managing to do that.

Isn't it due to dodgy governments or something?
When did dodgy governments prevent races? Certainly not in four wheels. I would expect there to be an Indy race in North Korea if Trump gets voted back in.

Re: Silly Season

Yes I heard about an interview with Poncheral about it. Apparently Petrucci was super enthusiastic about it, loves KTM as a company (he owns a lot of their offroad bikes, something stupid like 20!) and really, really wanted to be part of the project. So Poncheral said, aside from Petrucci's results...

Re: 2020 world championship prediction

In regards to each rider; Quartararo - needs better consistency Mir - needs to be higher up in the race early on It would help Mir if he was higher up in the race early on. However, he's doing ample to win the championship. We were posting about after six races he'd scored more in the last three ra...

Re: 2020 world championship prediction

I think it's between Mir and Quartararo. I don't think this will be an uncommon prediction. If it is either of them, then the championship will be won by a rider who never won a MotoGP race before their championship year. If Mir continues scoring well but not winning races, then we could have a Moto...

Isn’t he going to Tech3? He is? I didn't know that. Is that to replace Olivera moving to the KTM team? EDIT: Yes. https://www.crash.net/motogp/feature/935606/1/updated-rider-lineup-2021-motogp-world-championship Given KTM can develop their engine for next season, that TECH3 seat could be a good cho...
