Re: BSB 2020

That's right Apical, one round consisting of three races ( one on Saturday, two on Sunday) at the glorious Brands Hatch GP circuit. I'm absolutely gutted though that fans will not be allowed, there is no better circuit in the UK for spectating :( Although I haven't read back through my posts I'm sur...

Re: MotoGP R8 20/9 Gran Premio TISSOT dell'Emilia Romagna e della Riviera di Rimini Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncell

I can't understand people saying "put gravel or grass back there again". Are we forgetting what happens when someone high-sides in front of a following pack and why would we want to re-introduce that? (Especially reminded by this being the track that Tomizawa lost his life) I'm fairly certain it wa...

Re: Moto GP schedual and the corona virus...

Get "well" soon Jorge, such a strange thing to say to someone with no symptoms of anything. As Fingernails says though a necessary evil to stop it spreading through the paddock to those who may become seriously ill.

Re: WSBK in 2020

I think Redding's experience in Moto GP is what really helped him make the step from BSB to WSB, I say that because BSB run almost zero electronics. It makes BSB a very very close championship with exciting close racing, but will hamper most of the younger crop looking to make that step. I went to a...

Re: MotoAmerica 2020

Watched a few of the rounds this year, pretty underwhelmed by the racing but some beautiful tracks with some awesome elevation changes.
Supersport has some decent racing with the boy Brandon Paasch who raced Moto 3 in the UK last year usually near the front with two other guys.

Re: MotoGP R6 23-08 BMW M Grand Prix of Styria Red Bull Ring Spielberg

Last thing I'm going to say is Zarco was tighter than the normal racing line, if you don't agree look at the line taken by Binder and Quartararo or watch races from previous years. It was a conscious decision by Zarco to go tight because he saw Pol going wide and went for the pass, Pol only went a b...

Re: MotoGP R6 23-08 BMW M Grand Prix of Styria Red Bull Ring Spielberg

OK so Pol knew Zarco was likely to be there, Zarco knew Pol was likely to be there and as I've said from the start both can be apportioned with some blame. Like I said I've never " raced" but as far as I'm concerned unless you grab the brake to do it, slowing down would allow you to keep the same li...

Re: MotoGP R6 23-08 BMW M Grand Prix of Styria Red Bull Ring Spielberg

I haven't ridden a racing bike on a line in a race, I'm assuming from that question you have. I think you're mistaken to suggest Espargaro was returning from a very wide line. Zarco must have seen Pol missing that first apex by a metre or so, Zarco being one of the top racers in the world must be aw...

Toprak Appreciation Page

Aside from being an exciting racer I've heard Jim Whitam talk during commentary about stuff on social media with Toprak showing his skills on a bike. First time I saw these was yesterday  https://youtu.be/xSRCoxEiIEw https://youtu.be/LQJciC5Og9s There's a better video of the second one side o...

Re: MotoGP R6 23-08 BMW M Grand Prix of Styria Red Bull Ring Spielberg

Of course it doesn't clear it up. Just because you, Ago and Stoner think one way doesn't mean that others can't have a different opinion. If we take the line of Binder and Quartararo as normal Pol was slightly wider than the normal line, Zarco slightly tighter. Pol got his punishment in the gravel, ...

Re: MotoGP R6 23-08 BMW M Grand Prix of Styria Red Bull Ring Spielberg

When you're cranked over in a turn at over 100 Mph making nano-second adjustments to your trajectory, computing tire wear, deciding where to let off the brake, when, where and how much to open the throttle and whether in fact you can hold the line - you are expected to know if someone is behind you...

I know the focus after the crash was how lucky the factory Yamaha boys were but if Zarco's bike hadn't struck the air fence then Mir, Miller n the last rider in the front group would have been annihilated. Phew!!

I'm seeing an inability to control emotion in Quartararo that I think will be an Achilles heel in a championship fight.

Re: BSB 2020

To be fair to the Irwins neither of them are habitual crashers. Yes Andy gets into a few bumps and scrapes but doesn't go down too much himself and Glen has calmed his style right down after stepping up from supers port. Being a scotsman I'd like to see wee Taz Mac do well but he seems to be there s...

Re: MotoGP R5 16-08-20 Grand Prix von Österreich

I've never raced a motorbike but to me it looked like Zarco made the pass and drifted right across Morbidelli's line, obviously him braking to try and make turn 3 compounded the problem. I know some well respected racers have said that the gyroscopic effect meant that Zarco struggled to pull the bik...

I still think Brookes will take the championship, often seems steady and methodical in the early part of the season. I know the focus is Rea v Redding for the title this year but although he has ground to make up I feel like Toprak could be an outside shot. The way that guy rides a bike is awesome, love it. My first hero was Schwantz, my second Haga and I don't have a third yet!!!!

Re: IoW road racing?

I'm quite often inclined to believe all these new races/ tracks are nothing but a fantasy. Like you say though there are some right high profile names involved which gives it a bit more credence. It is likely to be the arse end of October because BSB finishes generally just after mid month and Brand...
