Re: Performance enhancing substances

I read on the BBC that CAS have decided to reduce Russia's ban, issued by WADA, from 4 years to 2. So a country who engaged in state sponsored doping have their ban halved..............and a motorcycle racer who ingested a weight loss steroid giving virtually no performance enhancement has his ban m...

Re: Marquez 2021

Says he isn't coming back until he's 100%. Again Ninja I'd imagine the blame will be spread out amongst various individuals/ groups. Although he gets a bad press I'd be surprised if Puig was the sole contributor to the outcome. Lots of people under a lot of pressure ( for various reasons)mean a high...

Re: Marquez 2021

Sorry, but I think pointing the finger at one person or group of people is being naive. It's very often the case that when something bad happens people look to point the finger at a single person or group ie a scapegoat, when reality is that more than one person/ group bears some portion of responsi...

Re: Will Marquez become the greatest racer of all Time?

Is it unthinkable that next year or a year later we could see Marquez retiring before Rossi does? Doubt it, even next year if he can't come back I'd expect at least one attempt at it in the years after This year has shown that the competition is fairly close to each other and its also shown that th...

I do hope he goes for it with another brand, if he's fully fit I can't see him being anything other than dominant on anything aside from the Priller

Agreed to a certain extent, think it's impossible to compare riders from totally different eras but I think you could have reasonable debate about Stoner v Marquez v Rossi and co

I agree and have to say he made me eat words that I uttered when I heard Marc VDS were taking him on. Initially I thought I was right after he missed Qatar because of injury, then his woopsie in Austria but he had a tremendous end to the season. Fast, smooth and Valencia aside very safe. To cap it a...

Re: Racing circuit pantheon

Really hoping Portimao gets added to the GP calendar regularly! Knowing how the cameras flatten somewhere like Brno, I bet those up and downhills have really got some gradient, would be great to see in person. Looks like a lovely part of the world too. The Algarve is lovely most of the year round. ...

Iker Lecuona missed Friday practices due to Covid 19. He has done ten days quarantine. As required by local regulations. Should be on track for fp3 Saturday morning. https://www.motogp.com/en/news/2020/11/12/lecuona-set-for-saturday-return-in-valencia/355805 The mind boggles, three negative tests f...

Re: Performance enhancing substances

I think the sentence handed to Iannone is ridiculous.

Sure the defence he offered was total bullshit, but the advantages of using such substances in motorcycling must be minimal compared to proper athletic sports eg cycling, running etc.
Do they not take this into account for sentencing?

King Juan just oozes class, that statement about real pressure being for people struggling to pay rent/ for food shows he's incredibly grounded. I said it before on another thread but Quartararo displays behaviour that will totally hinder any effort for a world championship especially against Marque...

Re: 2020 world championship prediction

A lot of rumours on social media that Portugal won't go ahead due to their lockdown. Think (for all 3 classes) you definitely want to be in the lead if you can at the end of Valencia 2, just in case.. So that has definitely narrowed down the list of possible winners, Mir with one hand on the trophy...

Didn't see all of fp1 today but heard Keith Huewen saying at the end of Moto 2 that Dixon and Kasma Daniel didn't go out because of the conditions????????? Is it just me or WTF and something more to this? I know in the past both have enjoyed throwing bikes up the road but seems bizarre given the pot...

Exactly, lots of differing viewpoints and at the end of the day only history will tell what the best course of action/ inaction was. Hindsight is a wonderful thing!!!!

I agree Fingernails, I'd be surprised if things are sorted completely by means of vaccination.

That said, surely to the almighty Lord Jesus Christ some fans will be allowed in!!! Donington and Brands are hundreds of acres in size and outside venues for goodness sakes.

Re: WSBK in 2020

You would think Ducati could have given the loyal servant from Wales the courtesy of letting him know their thoughts if it was an early decision. I feel like Chaz's turnaround in form came just after Ducati had made their minds up. Unfortunately for him Rinaldi had gone very well up until that point...

Feel sorry for Chaz too but I think his exceptionally poor start to the season was the final nail in the coffin. A lack of consistency ( relative to Rea) consistently put other nails in beforehand

Re: WSBK in 2020

I feel like Rea at Kawasaki in WSB is almost like Marquez at Honda in Moto GP, ie he gets a big say in who his teamate is. I wouldn't think he would have Davies because Redding aside Chaz is the only other rider that might put a decent title challenge up. The rest are just too inconsistent

Re: MotoGP Rnd 10 Gran Premio Michelin® de Aragón

I read somewhere that he'd done a practice start next to Pedrosa on a KTM without it and wee Dan's start was miles better. He thinks that if you can get it right without it your start will be much better than with it.

Re: 2020 world championship prediction

The danger for Mir is for what happened to Dovi in Catalunya to happen to him; namely poor qualifying puts you mid-pack, and then you get taken out in an incident. Think that is really what happened to Rossi in the 2006 season etc. I think if he does get his QP sorted, given his race pace, the rest...
