Re: Ducati goings on part 3

Another interesting take on the Duc's problems: http://manziana.motocorse.com/blog/34222_Shafts_Meaning_Crankshafts.php Thanks for posting... It s obvious the aouthor was looking for something specific, fair enough, but if you also look at this picture overall, you can see the riding position on th...

Re: Ducati goings on part 3

If they all had same bikes, either by a very mature formula or by rule, it would produce less variabity in results and more chance for an era dominated by the best rider (& team) whomever that is at that time. The honda and yahmaha currently have countering strengths and weaknesses which dices up th...

Re: GP Aperol di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini *Spoil

I'm expecting Rossi to run well at Phillip island, possible for win. The doctor has achived proffesor emeritus status, so he can decide when and where to pick his battles, but the battle between him and Marquez I was expecting this year went no further than the first race. Honda needs to take Marque...

Re: First CRT rider should always make it to podium

I think they've gone far enough with their own para ferme. Now that the war for control looks won, dorna can focus on reunification of the series. CE did have an interesting comment awhile back. Give this years factory bikes to next years CRT teams. Would be an interesting expirement at least and wo...

Re: Casey Stoner To Test Honda's MotoGP Bikes At Motegi

I think we're forgetting here that stoner has a kid and who knows may be busying working on another. At 2 yrs old they're just getting to a fun age too. Sure you can do both, just not at 100% , so continuing the testing is the best of both worlds and keeps him current. Strangely I think he's enjoyin...

I can't help but thinking long term rider contracts a bad for the sport. Why not one yr limit? And how about an open courting session mid season where riders can ride out of contract bikes. And deals cant be signed until after that, not after first few races, for the next yr. For Iannone he did very...

Re: The Curious Case Of Benjamin Spies

I seem to recall him leaving AMA because it was getting dumbed down and is now a mixed bag of classes and rules so I don't think he'd want to go back there or even WSBK now for that matter. Who knows, he may have been out fishing with Stoner one too many times, and begun to loose interest in MPG as ...

I'd say the private test at cota was the on notice moment. He seems to do better at places he'd never seen before and better than the best where they never riden either. I was and still am sceptical with Marquez as rules were changed so doors that were closed for others could be opened for him and o...

Does anyone have figures on the ducs weight distribution and cg? My suspision is the duc is pear shapped under the covers. The bike consistently does better in the wet, it also seems to do well in straighling breaking and accel. Cons reportedly are under stear. This leads me to think she's got a low...

Good for him I think thats better to be in an established team. On the bike, have they said anything about the suspension and brakes? I was assuming it will be the Showa / Nissin stuff, could be only potential downside. I think Bautista using them still? and I recalls bradl changing something I thin...

Re: Casey Stoner To Test Honda's MotoGP Bikes At Motegi

If Casey doesn't want to race in motogp then i really dont want to know about it. He's the one who started all this by testing with Honda which came out of the blue. I think Stoners test came out of necessity for honda rather than comeback for stoner. I was wondering why marquez wasn't testing too,...

A legend is a story. In context of a person, id say it's someone who's story is worth telling to future generations. This is subjective to whater qualities you find exemplary and make a great story. Prevalening agaisnt great odds or extraordinary circumstance are common themes. It can even be a mome...

I think many people are assuming he had a realistic choice in the matter.. i think it been said before that being a statlite team owner dosnt mean you have complete freedom of who rides the bikes. His yahmaha ride was reportedly already offerd to a moto2 rider. This couod very well have been hhis mo...

Marquez like rossi stepped in behind a dominate Australian leaving top notch crew, data, mechanics, the whole package. Re: Nicky Hayden - MotoGP in 2014 or not??

An important point to remember... Stoner never won on a Duc w/spec tires. His Duc championship was on Bridgestones, but not spec Bridgestones I still think that is the answer for Duc It sucks that Nicky will prob be leaving like this... but the rules made it so Stoner won every year on that bike, a...

Do the CrTs use all their fuel each race ?. Been awhile since looked at the rules but i think they limit injection pressure and have control regulators, so max fueling rates may be limited anyway. Just a thought. As for Ducati, dosent FTR make their aluminum frame, or have they developed that calabi...

HRC published paper on Engine Tourqe Wheelie Limit Control

Near end of last season, HRC published a paper at a SAE small engine conference here in the states. I copied and linked to the abstract below. The paper outlines the model in their ECU that decides how much power, actual torque to generate, to the rear wheel to be at the wheelie limit of the motorcy...
