Re: Should Suzuki get Morbidelli and drop Rins?

I will say last few races have reinforced your point somewhat :)

He definitely needs to turn things around I think now. Last few races he has had the speed to podium but keeps throwing it down the road. You have to think Suzuki will have a limit to their patience..

Re: Round 6 - Gran Premio d'Italia Oakley (Mugello)

Yes I think it says something about how entertaining bike racing is that you don't need it to be wet (like you do with F1!) to make an entertaining race. Forecast is still all over the place, it had said rain on Friday and Saturday and dry Sunday, but checking again now it is down as wet for Sunday....

Re: Spanish GP - Round 4

Most of the commentary I have read is that he is missing muscle mass on his right-hand side. It's coming back but he is still finding right-hand corners hard work - and is probably praying for Sachsenring!

Re: Round 6 - Gran Premio d'Italia Oakley (Mugello)

Long range weather forecast showing 50% chance of rain on Sunday! So if that's the case no predictions for me here (Miller 3 in a row?) I think between Quartararo and Bagnaia (possibly Miller) if it's dry, maybe Zarco too he has been good at the track in the past. Would be nice to see Morbidelli and...

Re: SHARK Grand Prix de France - rd.5

Sorry a bit late posting here guys but what an eventful race you couldn't take your eyes off it for 2 seconds. Great for Miller, two on the bounce and hopefully he can carry that confidence forward to Italy. If he won in Mugello that would be any of his contract worries removed for at least another ...

Re: Should Suzuki get Morbidelli and drop Rins?

Are you serious? The guy who could have won the last race and pushed the bike beyond what it was capable of? I don't think Rins will ever be a WC contender, just because he has that flaw (shared by more riders than not) of trying to go for wins or podiums rather than settling for points. He has beat...

Re: Grande Prémio 888 de Portugal - Rd 3

Not sure what happened to Vinales - he had a dreadful start from his poor grid position (thanks to one of his tyres seemingly going onto the green by 1mm) then got nerfed on a couple of corners and was practically in last. His race pace was quite poor until the halfway point (I wondered if he had a ...

Re: Grande Prémio 888 de Portugal - Rd 3

Incredible ride by Fabio and hopefully he will be a strong contender, but I will avoid putting in any WC predictions until he manages to do better at the tracks the Yamaha struggles at. That being said, what on earth happened to Vinales? @CLX - Yes I know what you mean about Mir. I actually felt a b...

Re: Will BMW deliver with Van Der Mark?

I was gonna say WSBK seems to be that formula where Ducati finds a way to cheat and then stays on top until it changes (or Mr Rea beats them anyway :D ) I would like the racing to go back more towards stock. Use the BSB formula of limiting electronics and upgrades, which has been super successful in...

Re: 2020 world championship prediction

John Kocinski blamed a fish I'd tried looking that one up, couldn't find it ;) Just disappeared down a massive internet rabbithole trying to find what race it was. Someone in another forum had mentioned Donington so I looked through all the years he raced there and no mention in any of the 500cc ra...

Grande Prémio 888 de Portugal - Rd 3

Hey guys

3rd race of the year this weekend and they have finally escaped from the desert!

Predictions for the race weekend? Can Oliviera repeat his win from last time?

Will the king return and reclaim his throne? :)

Crikey Kenup good job finding that in the rulebook and posting it.

Yes I think definitely helped not escalate things by Mir winning the riders championship, probably would have gone on for some time afterwards if it had been Morbidelli.

Re: Marquez 2021

Quite interesting listening to the Paddock Pass podcast about the upcoming race. None of the journos could agree on what to expect from Marc - everything from him doing well to finish in the top 10, to expecting him to challenge for the podium. Think the only thing they could agree on was Marc himse...

Re: Silly Season

From other editorials I've read it looks like very unlikely for a race in 2021, but possible for next year. Really I think Aprilia can thank their lucky stars to get a rider of his calibre, with so much experience (of so many bikes), onto their machine. It could well be what they need to take that n...

Completely unsubstantiated rumour doing the rounds - Salvadori injured this weekend and won't race, Aprilia will be bringing in another rider...

(Note: Most of the well known journos have said "don't trust this" as they haven't heard anything to corroborate it)

Re: Marquez 2021

If it was any other current rider I would be surprised if they could get a top 10 finish, after a gap this long. But for Marc, he has surprised us so many times before, so who knows? Interesting article in Pacino GP saying the team are apparently aiming for top 15 in FP1, top 10 FP2 and then go from...

Re: TISSOT Grand Prix of Doha - Rd.2

I think the scrutineering carry out some really in-depth analysis of the engines. That was how they noticed that Yamaha were using different valves last year and penalised them. Yamaha themselves thought they were getting the same component but they had to change manufacturer, even though it was mea...

Re: TISSOT Grand Prix of Doha - Rd.2

Yes for sure it's really difficult to make any larger statements at the moment when they have only been to the track in the desert. For me in race two it looked like the Yamaha especially was getting amazing drive out of the corners. Quartararo especially was really jumping out of them, for a few of...

Re: TISSOT Grand Prix of Doha - Rd.2

Some quite interesting discussion on this on the Lorenzo Youtube channel (which is pretty entertaining btw if you get the chance to check it out) - he said Martin had a really interesting style on the bike, breaking late and running deep through the corner. Actually compared it to Stoner's way of ri...

But how will a month of fatigue compare with almost a year of not riding a MotoGP bike in anger, against a field that has been? A lot of interesting discussion about what level Marquez will be at when he comes back, even the pundits can't agree although I think the vast majority think even if he com...

Re: Marquez 2021

Apparently Marc to have another health check on 12th April at which point a decision will be made on whether he will race in Portugal. Fair amount of talk on the various podcasts and racing media about whether he will be strong enough to race (or even how close he was in Qatar), but ultimately don't...

Ah that's interesting I was wondering what had happened to Folger. I wonder if the more laid back life in WSBK will suit him better.

Such a long wait to the start of the championship this year!
