Re: 2020 world championship prediction

Nice. I always expected Mir to do well, but his second race at Austria convinced me to jump on the bandwagon. Even though he lost a sure win, he was composed enough to fight on and score as many points as possible, in that case 4th after beating Dovi. And of course we all know it takes a lot to bea...

Re: Silly Season

Interesting stuff. Really seems now that Aprilia standing by Iannone (who, from everything I have read, is not expected to be able to overturn the ban) has really cost them. Both Dovi and Cal. Last thing left remaining to them is if Lorenzo decides what the hell he is doing and decides to come back...

Re: 2020 world championship prediction

I think Mir might be or should be the new championship favourite. He’s showing the most consistency so far and this year that’s what is going to win the championship. He will only be 12 or so points down at the end of this race and unless something changes drastically I think he will get more point...

if that’s not enough to call BS on the track limits penalties I don’t know what is.. It was for multiple time’s. At least that’s what I’ve been lead to believe. When they replaced grass and gravel with bitumen they also took away the risks associated with going off track. They have to stop riders t...

Pecco just smashed Mavericks lap record in fp3. I wasn’t sure how his leg would hold up racing two weekends in a row which is why I didn’t pick him on the podium but he’s looking pretty decent so far.

Re: 2020 world championship prediction

With Mir and Rins mostly fully fit now, I think Suzuki has a serious shot at winning the teams championship. Only 1 point behind Ducati, 16 Yamaha and 27 Petronas. I’d expect them to be in front of the factory Ducati team by 15 or so points by the end of this round. I think Mir and Rins can consiste...

Re: MotoGP R8 20/9 Gran Premio TISSOT dell'Emilia Romagna e della Riviera di Rimini Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncell

Other than the first 2 rounds the results have been impossible to predict. I give up. Even last year when Marquez was dominating you could still have a decent shot at guessing who would be on the podium with him. Strangely enough the only guys with 4 top 5 finishes so far are Mir and Rossi. I think ...

Re: 2020 world championship prediction

As discussed the strategy of getting its world championships from Marc Marquez has worked, however they have tried to adapt the bike to other riders as can be seen in Pedrosa getting a different exhaust to Marquez to give the bike a slightly different tuning. It's also been seen that Marquez and Cr...

Re: 2020 world championship prediction

If engines for next season have to be exactly the same as this season due to corona virus cost cutting then they might be totally screwed for next year as well. They can’t argue that they should be able to change anything on the engine for more reliability or because the previous years engines had p...

Re: MotoGP R6 23-08 BMW M Grand Prix of Styria Red Bull Ring Spielberg

Looking at the tyre usage in the restarted race no one used a tyre from the first part of the race which was 16 laps. Most used new tyres and the worse case scenario was a tyre with 10 laps on it. Mir: used new versions of the same tyres in each part race, which was mediums front and rear Miller: a...

Re: MotoGP R6 23-08 BMW M Grand Prix of Styria Red Bull Ring Spielberg

Possible pit lane start for Zarco, I wish I knew what this new evidence against him was. I just hope it's a safe uneventful weekend, to be honest. That’s the question really. Atm the evidence seems to be because Rossi said he should be punished. Is this the first time the rider in front has been pu...

Re: Dovi done with Ducati after 2020

Dovi smashed everyone at misano 2018, when Lorenzo binned it on the last lap 3 seconds or so behind Dovi. That's one straight off the top of my head Wasn’t that a wet race? MotoGp says "no" it is recorded as a dry race; https://www.motogp.com/en/Results+Statistics Looks like that link doesn't work ...

Re: MotoGP R5 16-08-20 Grand Prix von Österreich

Is it any different from when Marquez and Rossi collided in Argentina? Rossi took a line that Marquez wasn’t expecting and Marc’s front tyre his Rossi’s rear. There is a huge speed differential between the two but the actions are essentially the same IMO. We disagree regularly it seems  Marc h...

Re: 2020 world championship prediction

I still have to think he’s missed too many races to take the title. It’s not impossible, but starting 80 or more points down with 9 races left. I would imagine that with it being almost 6 weeks since the second surgery by the time he returns at Misano he would be close to 100%. An average of 9 or mo...

Yamaha’s Engines

Just how much trouble are Yamaha in engine wise? Given that engine development is frozen until 2022 does this mean if there is a serious design flaw that the engine for 2021 must be built to the exact same specs with the exact same components? If Yamaha were to fix/change the engines issues for 2021...

Re: Dovi done with Ducati after 2020

I’m looking at it like this. In 2020 the stars MAY align for Dovi to win the championship. The biggest star aligning being Marquez’s injury. He’s in his mid 30s and won’t improve, he’s proven that he can’t beat Marquez in a championship and each year since 2017 his gap to Marquez has got bigger. I w...

A lot of people are having a go at Pol for being erratic, but really he's proven himself to be a consistent, safe rider over the years. The Brno accident wasn't his fault. The Austria accident he was perhaps more culpable for, not being careful enough when rejoining the track, but nobody will be ki...

One thing to note - all the replays don't really show just how close Vinales was to being hit by a flying Ducati. There's a few pictures on Twitter floating about and it's easily as close if not closer than Rossi. I don't want to witness anything like this again... I’d say closer, the bike ...

Not a bad a result, I’m glad it’s over. I pick on Rossi here and there, but damn I have no words for today. I don’t know what it took him to go back out and if he had not returned he’d have my respect just the same. Respect. Weird day. Same here. I’m not a fan but his ride to 5th might’ve been the ...

I’m so thankful no bikes involved or almost involved were a hundredth faster or slower because it could’ve led to more injuries or even death.

Yes. Had high hopes for 04, but I don't know that he does. Physically he looks like he aged 5 years in-between seasons. While being a slow steady freight train might work over 20 races it's going to be tough in this shortened season. Having said that let's see how many riders get broken per round -...

Marquez broke his titanium plate holding his bone together by opening a window. But, reading the text, it seems that this was the straw that broke the camel's back after previous strain had been put on the plate. https://www.crash.net/motogp/news/941138/1/marc-marquez-broke-arm-plate-opening-window...
